November 2004, copy of Premiere magazine.
Anyone seen it? It has 11 pictures of the LOTR production cast and crew, all taken and captioned by Viggo Mortensen.
It also had some tidbits about what will be in the ROTK EE dvd:
"The extended edition of the Return of the King DVD, set for release this December, will add 50 minutes to the film, including more than 300 visual effects shots and some 30 minutes of Howard Shore's score. There's more than 20 hours of new material (there's a lot of documentary footage) so it should satisfy out Rings jones - at least until the extended edition triple box set arrives.
Some of the new scenes:
-A romantic encounter - without words - between Eowyn and Faramir in the Houses of Healing
-An Extension of Aragorn's plea for the army of the dead to fight alongside men. Instead of the abrupt cut in the theatrical version, the walls for skulls around the men begin to crumble and the ghosts hover over them.
-The final showdown between Gandalf and Saruman, in which Saruman challenges Gandalf. Saruman's fate is given seven minutes of footage. And Grima Wormtongue has his day as well.
-A scene between Pippen and Faramir where Pippen says he wants to help the cause of men but acknowledges his small size, and Faramir tells the story of when he was boy was timid, too, and tells Pippen that he is wearing his boyhood armour."
I can type up some quotes, and the captions included in the article, also, but giving you the photographs will be difficult, as I cannot yet find them online. Anyone interested? Just say the word.
