What is your opinion about children under 13 years of age. Most kids around where I live smoke, ever 6 year olds. Where my step-sister lives, six-year-olds come up to people saying "Have you got a light?" and I get pissed off when they do that. I mean, you should smoke when your 16, or older. Not in their youth! Discuss.

Personally, I don't think you should smoke at any age. Doing it at childhood is just as bad as doing it when you are an adult, except it's more sick, letting your brain get addicted to something like that at such a young age.
The brave ones are the ones who don't smoke. That's not an actual saying, but it should be one. I think the brave people are ones who stand up for that, even if their friends are doing it.
As childrens bodies are weaker, they are more likely to get blocked artires, and other desieses. They shouldn't throw their life away at that age...it's stupid.

SIX YEARS OLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wow, if they start then, they could get EXTREMELY addicted by age 8! and if they don't get help, they could DIE BEFORE THEY'RE 14!!! And if they live, they could have robotic vocal chords by their 20's!!!!!! *screams*

My grandma smokes, and can't stop. My mum used to, though I, yes I, helped her stop. And my dad just even hates the idea of smoking and alcohol because as I said, he's a strict Catholic. But 6... woah... yeah, all around here people smoke too. But it may seem cool now, but the un-smokers will be the cool ones once the smokers have died a horrible death. Sorry for the extremeness. I am never ever gonna smoke, not even 1 cigarette, because: a) You waste loadsa money. b) Your life expectancy lowers by each cigarette. c) Each cigarette takes 5 and a half minutes of your life. d) You put non-smokers around you at risk. e) Your teeth rot, your hair/clothes/etc stink... f) You live less. g) Many more reasons that'd take me a year to write. Oh c'mon, all that just to look f***** COOL in front of your 'mates' !! Well I tell you what: If they are mates, they shouldn't be encouraging you to smoke anyway.

I think that when younger people start smoking, they are being lead down a path of disease(sometimes) and/or death(less ofen than disease but it does happen). They could be just doing what they see adults doing, just trying to be "cool", or are just curious about it. And everyone knows that when you start smoking, you can get addicted and despite your efforts to stop, you just can't.

Do you live in New York City or something? People are always curious or pressured into trying drugs, and it's sad. They ruin their life when they do that, especialy if they start making bad descions like that at the age of 6. By 12 they'll probably be a father or have had an overdose and are dead or in rehab. It is their choice, but you should try to confront them about their choices in life. I know a guy that has a great life, he's smart, even though school doesn't exactly motivate him (but it doesnt motivate me either) he's good looking, and more so. But he's just screwing up his life at the moment. He smokes cigarrettes and one of his friends, and one of mine, grows his own marijuana and deals it to people at our school. It's stupid, and disappointing to the friends that actualy care about his life.

Thy're either very sad or very stupid. It's one thing for adults to be addicted who starting smoking in the forties, it's another thing to start NOW. Come on, we all know now what cigarettes do to you. Gahh. Hasn't anyone ever met a person with lung cancer? What a horrible way to die.

Smoking sucks. I would never do it. My grandma has had her house for 10 years and she's smoked all that 10 years and EVERYTHING is yellow. Everything. And I moved in with my mom two years ago and now it really sucks, I have to put up with somke whenever my grandma's around.... I'm glad my mom doesnt smoke. But my dad does, but he's quitting!!!!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!!! My friend Travis, he's 13, he somkes and whenever I'm with him I'm afraid he'll get caught, and i try to put out his cig, and if I do he gets all pissed. And if he finds one, or a whole pack, I just take it and destroy it. Smoking kills one person every minute. I learned it in my anti-drug class, it's called DARE. Smoking sucks.

I think there is not one single person in my entire 6-8th grade school that smokes or does drugs or anything of that nature. I think that because almost twice a week, we have assemblies or show videos or have lectures on the effects of it and we have no drug week and that's practically all they ever talk about. I understand they want us to be healthy, but I think they're stressing it a bit too much. We know probably every single thing there is to know about it. Every movie we see shows the same info and i hate that.
