Just wanted to know your opinion on the Quagmires and Baudelaires. Please no fighting and support your answer (according to the book, not personal reasons / explanations.)

Probably the Baudelaires. The Quagmires spend most of their time sitting around imprisoned. They were smart to take secret notes on Olaf's ranting, and to send messages in TVV, but the only book they really do anything useful in is TAA, and anything they do there I'm pretty sure the Baudelaires could do just as well if they weren't so tired from S.O.R.E. The Baudelaires have shown off their researching and disguising talents time and time again.
It's hard to really compare, though. The Quagmires don't get much opportunity to prove their resourcefulness.

I agree it is hard to compare, its as if the Quagmires need another asoue for themselves, because there is so much unexplained. However in a match between Quagmires and Baudelaires, Baudelaires would win in my eyes. The Quagmires are always going to be the reminder that the situation is not exclusive to Klaus Sunny and Violet, but I don't think they are as captivating as the leading trio

It's tricky. The Quagmires get off to a bad start when they prop open the back door of the auditorium, imagining that this solves the Baudelaires' problems; but they show themselves pretty resourceful later, with all their research, and Isadora's couplets in TVV. Of course, we see much more of the Baudelaires, so can form a better judgement of their resourcefulness. I voted for the Baudelaires, in the end, because I thought Sunny deserved extra points for doing such striking things (sword-fighting, climbing elevator shafts, sending smoke signals, etc.) despite being a baby.

If I knew more about the Quagmires I would be able to have a more thorough opinion on the matter, but since I don't...I'd have to say Baudelaires. I only enjoyed the Quagmires because the Baudelaires did, and it reminded me of my own friendships. Duncan and Isadora seemed a bit flat, but Quigley seemed to be quite a dimensional character. Maybe it's just because we know more of his story than the other two.

I like the Quagmires cause' they're triplets and that's funky. Also because they have a lot of space in their characters for day dreams an such-like. I can make them into anything with my head.

But even if the Quagmires did die? Why the Baudelaire's over them?

The Baudelaires. The Quagmires don't really have an opportunity to show much talent.

The Baudelaires. The Quagmires don't really have an opportunity to show much talent. Those were my thoughts exactly. Since we're following the Baudelaires, we see more of them & know them better.. their strengths, their qualities, and therefore get to establish what we like about them. The Quagmires, not really. They're introduced as an aid & friends to the Baudelaires with a similar situation. But as far as favoring them? Don't think so.

I preferred the Baudelaires a lot more. You don't really get to know the Quagmires as much. I also just don't like the last name "Quagmire" but that's definitely not a good reason.

I think a series with protagonists with the surname "Quagmire" would be somewhat different in tone to aSoUE. It's not really a heroic surname.

No, it isn't. On a semi-related note, at first I liked Isadora and Duncan in TAA, hoping they would develope into love interests for Violet and Klaus, but then Fiona and Quigley came along and stole the show.

I prefer the Baudelaires a lot more, though I think thee Quagmires are more resourceful. The Bauds. have much more moments to use their talents, ex. breaking out of jail, sword-fighting, etc, but really. They were able to send help messages while trapped in a water fountain, and estimated when they would dry. And, Quigley did a lot of things in TSS. They did a lot, compared to their appearances in the series, so I think they'd be as help as the Bauds. if they had more on-screen time.

On a semi-related note, at first I liked Isadora and Duncan in TAA, hoping they would develope into love interests for Violet and Klaus, but then Fiona and Quigley came along and stole the show. Well that's true. I started to like the Quagmires(Isadora rocks) but when Quigley stole Violet's heart(Quigley???) I started to get upset. Fiona was okay since Isadora is older than Klaus but still...I forgot where I was going. Ugh! The Quagmire's Suck(Unless there are real orphans out there that have inherited Sapphires then I'll shut up) And the Bauds are okay but I think there should be a third category. TSS campers are the best though. End of my trolling :D
