Who is this year’s Most Valuable Poster? 667 has so many fascinating members. “Charming, noble, thoughtful, resilient, patient and numerous,” to quote Mr. Daniel Handler. It’s the reason why we are still going strong as a message board, nearly six years after founding and over a year since the Series ended. We just reached 667,000 posts and 5,000 members (for the second time, thanks to Linda), we are a fixture on LemonySnicket.com and Wikipedia, and continue to work on projects to show our dedication to Lemony Snicket and to this forum. I must thank all of you for your loyalty and kindness, because these proud outcomes are the results of your actions. But there is one member whose contributions are truly oustanding. And that is the person we aim to honor with this award. Many fantastic members have been nominated, as is to be expected in a community with such strong members as 667 Dark Avenue. And none of them ever betrayed this community, unlike some people (two people, to be precise)… The nominees were: Dante Fancy Linda Tragedy Betsy BSam Swans Pandora Dante is incredibly valuable to this site. His knowledge of everything Lemony Snicket is unrivalled. He works tirelessly on the Burdensome Books and Ravaged Resources sections, and that is why 667 Dark Avenue is such a respected trove of information – the ultimate Lemony Snicket resource. We have much to thank him for. I can say without exaggeration that 667 Dark Avenue would not be half the site it is today, had it not been for his contributions. He won the Most Unfortunate Darkie and deserved it. I honestly believe he is the most outstanding Lemony Snicket fan in the world. Fancy is my co-administrator. She has been around since September 2002 and now works behind the scenes to ensure fairness on 667 and the promotion of the forum. She also happens to be my favorite person in the world, but let’s not go there. Hey Fancy, take a seat. Your legs must be tired because you've been running through my mind all night. Ohhhh yeaaaaah Linda is a valuable member because of her all-around contributions. She adds to serious discussions, makes highly entertaining posts and genuinely cares about the progress of Dark Avenue. It is a rare combination. She is also a Mormon. This makes her even more unique. Betsy is in Madagascar or something, but under normal circumstances she is a very active member who has a long-standing presence on 667’s entertainment scene. BSam has been a member for five years, and I don’t think his dedication to 667 has ever seriously wavered. The members have already chosen him as the Funniest Member. He has nearly 24,000 posts in total. But most impressive to me is his knack for aiding the site on its Daniel Handler contact projects (Insidious Inquiries, SixSixSeven Survey). He always shows concern about the state of 667 Dark Avenue, and to reward him I have recently promoted him to Disturbing Discussion moderator. Swans was once my real partner in administering the forum. Although she is no longer in the middle of it all, I know she still cares deeply for 667 Dark Avenue and will always be here when we need her. Like Dante, she played a key role in helping this forum develop its character to become a success. Pandora is a very polite member who would never do anything rude to anyone, especially her allies on the Tame Squad. She returned to her position as LL/CC moderator just this week. Although her days as a high-volume poster are over for now, she continues to be a steady, interesting presence that would never bore anyone. She is also a fierce competitor in the Vernacularly Fastened Door contest. These were all fine candidates, and the list could have been expanded further. I have good things to say about… most of you. But the winner of the 2008 MVP Darkie is BSam. Thank you for being a true 667er. Let’s also thank Cybermystery and Willis for their hard work in making the Darkies a successful event. Congratulations to all winners, and really to all 667ers. I am proud to lead such an awesome group.

"BSam would love to accept this award and make a great speech but unfortunately he has already passed out in the corner.
Fortunately I knew him well and know exactly who he would like to thank for his flawless victory, Sally, Logan Moose, Lobokos, and of course...me, Dellagatta, one of his closest friends!
He loves you all mostly, and congratulations to all the other winners."

You and Willis say that like every time we're in a chat together. Seriously, why? You don't go around saying J. is a Jew or Samreen is a Muslim or Libby is a Catholic every time you see them, do you? It just seems kind of strange. Also, hurray for BSam!

This turned out really well! I'm so glad 667 was back for it. It was really lovely to see so many old member presenting awards, and the presentations themselves were great. Congratulations to all the winners! Your awards are extremely well-deserved.
