"Oh, we know all about Geraldine," Violet replied, shuddering. "I have a hunch that we're not quite talking about the same Geraldine, but does the one you know work for The Daily Punctilio?"
"At any rate," added Quigley, "she had caused a lot of trouble for Violet, Klaus, and Sunny. At one time, The Daily Punctilio had released articles about them killing a Count Omar."
"Which, by the way, was not true," Duncan replied, shuddering. "As a budding journalist myself, I have no respect for the likes of The Daily Punctilio. I don't know why so many people believe what they read in that paper."
"How old is Geraldine?" asked Quigley, with curiosity.
"By the way," added Violet, "do you know of a Lemony Snicket?" For some reason, that name seemed important to her. "Also, for that matter, a Jacques Snicket and a Kit Snicket? From, uh, where we came from... Well, Count Olaf killed Jacques - and was responsible for the death of Kit. Apparently, at some point, Kit had dated Olaf."
"We never had much success in locating Lemony," added Quigley.
OOC: Has your Violet already been born, but Monty doesn't yet know of it?

[It’s all explained in this next post. ] “No,” Monty replied. “But she is a journalist for our school newspaper. She’s seventeen and a very gifted writer. “As for Lemony Snicket, he’s Beatrice’s boyfriend and the father of their unborn child. He and Beatrice are planning to marry in June. She graduated in May and currently resides at with her parents at their estate awaiting the birth of her child. “What you mentioned before about the two Snicket triplets,” Monty concluded. “Are you serious? Is Count Olaf— Esmé’s guardian —really responsible for their deaths?” Monty hated to think that this might be true, considering that both he and Jerome were well-acquainted with all three of the Snicket triplets. Lemony, Kit and Jacques had graduated the V.F.D. Training School the previous year; whereas Monty and Bertrand had graduated along with Beatrice six months earlier. As for Jerome, he had met the Snickets because they were members of the same country club as the Squalors. [This is it from me for the night. It’s late and I’ve got to go get ready for bed. But I think the RP is going really well, don’t you? ]

Violet could hardly believe what she heard. She felt quite positive that Lemony Snicket wasn't her father. Then again, if this really was a different world...
"The Geraldine we know is much older than that," explained Duncan. "When Lemony Snicket was fired as the movie critic of The Daily Punctilio - which was back in 1965 - Geraldine had replaced her. Both were barely into their adulthood, back then."
"Also, the Snickets are not triplets," Violet commented, stunned. "Jacques and Kit are twins, and Lemony is two years younger than them."
"Gee, it's like we just stepped into the twilight zone," muttered Jennifer, stunned.
"Well, Monty, there's something we should tell you," Violet replied, swallowing hard. "Even though it's still 1985 in this world - unless you're in ours - and a few things seem to be quite different... Well, if you ever become a legal guardian for some children - especially if their last name happens to be Baudelaire - and some... some assistant comes to your place... He might call himself Stephano." Tears filled her eyes, as she added, "If the children try to warn you about your new assistant, please... Please, Monty, promise me that you'll listen to them. Otherwise, it could be the..." Suddenly, Violet began to cry.
"Stephano was, in reality, Olaf," added Quigley, as he drew Violet close to him. "I don't know if, in fact, Bertrand and Beatrice are destined to have three children - Violet, Klaus, and Sunny - or, if they do..."
"I wonder if this might be why we were sent here," suggested Duncan, quietly. "So that we could avert, uh... It's strange to think that, even though it's the same year, you guys are a little behind us."
OOC: Yeah, I think so. We have to remember to bring in my Jerome - and I'm thinking that maybe we should bring in Beatrice and Sunny, after all.
Beatrice should meet Kit, and we don't want to leave out Sunny. In your ficverse, I guess Kit is one year older than Violet. It'd be interesting for her to meet her mother, even if it's a different version of her mother.

“Yes,” Monty agreed. “I’ve never considered the idea of time travel, but I suppose that anything’s possible. What I’m curious about is how you four came here in the first place.”
Up until this point, Jerome had chosen to remain comparatively silent. It wasn’t that he lacked interest in the conversation going on around him. It had more to do with his inability to do well in groups consisting of more than one or two people. He tended to become withdrawn and quiet, sometimes to a point in which people forgot he was even there. The only large group he could honestly say he fared well in was his home economics class at school. And that was because it provided him with a strong sense of confidence.
“So,” Jerome said, and felt his face flush as everyone turned to look at him. “What you’re saying is you were sent here to warn us?”
He wanted desperately to ask if he, like Monty, was at risk for any danger, but was terrified of what the answer would be.
[Oh, absolutely! Feel free to introduce your Jerome at any time. And bringing in Sunny and Beatrice is a great idea. I was actually wondering where they might be when the Baudelaires and the Quagmires are meeting everyone.
I also love your idea for Beatrice meeting Kit. We’ll definitely have to add that in.]

"I'm not sure how we ended up here," Violet replied, confused. "For all we know, you guys might be in our world. I'm still not sure of what happened."
"I wonder if Doc had anything to do with this," suggested Quigley. When Monty and Jerome looked confused, he added, "Our friend, Dr. Emmett Brown. He was also our final guardian, until Violet turned eighteen."
"Doc did, in fact, invent a time machine," added Jennifer. "It only allows for astral travel, though - and he still has to make a few adjustment. I'm sure that's not what this is, though."
"I'm not sure why you guys are behind us," commented Duncan, quietly, "and, yet, the year is still 1985. Well, let's figure out what all the differences and similarities are. The Beatles?"
OOC: I'm going out, soon - but I'll bring in my Jerome, this afternoon. Veritable French Diner, before ordering.

“They’re one of Esmé’s favorite groups,” Monty said. “If I’m not mistaken, a friend of hers from Britain got her interested. An older fellow named Fernald Widdershins, who is an associate of Count Olaf’s.”
Monty’s response received a few more curious looks from the group of four. He and Jerome exchanged looks of their own, though theirs were ones more along the lines of confusion than curiosity.
“Well,” Jerome said. “I suppose it’s safe to say that some things remain the same in both worlds.”

"I'm going to hazard a guess," commented Duncan, "and assume that, in your world, John Lennon was still shot by Mark David Chapman on December 8 of 1980?" Jerome and Hector nodded, quite vigorously. "Well," mused Duncan, softly, "it's interesting to know that some things have stayed the same, I suppose. Although, it'd certainly be nice to visit a world where John Lennon wasn't shot." "We can discuss The Beatles later, guys," interjected Violet. "Right now, we have more important things to talk about. So, Monty, how old is Fernald? Do you know of a Fiona? She's a couple years older than me - so, if the other me hasn't been born yet, but Fiona was... Well, I guess she'd be just a tiny baby." "We don't even know if your counterpart will be born in this world," Quigley pointed out, gently. "We can't be quick to jump to conclusions." Meanwhile... Jerome was sitting in a booth at his favourite restaurant, Veritable French Diner. He wished that a restaurant like that existed in Hill Valley. It was also a shame that Kathy couldn't come along. Young Friday and Bertrand were spending the weekend with Hector. Jerome sighed, as he thought about Friday. She was ten years old, no longer quite a little girl. As for Bertrand, he was two and a half years old. He was growing to become a fine young boy. OOC: Thanks, I did. Also, what are some good French foods - which would be palatable to the average North American?

“From what Esmé has told me,” Monty said, “Fernald does have a baby sister named Fiona. She lives in Britain with her mother and Fernald’s father.” A loud rumble interrupted the conversation, and everyone’s eyes settled on Jerome. He blushed, annoyed by the fact that his stomach was being less than cooperative. It was past the normal time he usually ate lunch, and he hadn’t realized it until just now. “Sorry,” he said, and raised his hand to rub awkwardly at his face. It was his typical idiosyncrasy whenever he was nervous or upset. “But I guess I am a little hungry. What do you say we head over to the Veritable French Diner for lunch? It’s not far from here, and I have enough money for all of us to eat.” Jerome smiled, hoping that Monty and their newfound friends would take Jerome up on his offer. [You're welcome. As for what sort of good French foods there are, I went online and found some that looked suitable: artichokes casserole, blanket of veal, beef and onion stew, cauliflower au gratin and chicken Bordeaux.]

"Sure," agreed Violet, as the rest of the group nodded. "That isn't a bad idea."
"So Fiona does exist in this world?" asked Duncan, stunned - as the group began heading to the diner. "Now, is Captain Widdershins their real father - or their stepfather. Since you refer to Fernald as Fernald Widdershins, I assume that Captain Widdershins is the father of the family - in some form."
"So, if Fernald does exist," mused Quigley, softly, "Violet might be due to be born soon."
OOC: Yeah, I'm really not as much into French foods. I prefer Mexican, Italian, and Chinese - or Western Chinese, anyway. Also, do you think your Violet will be born during the course of the RPG?

“That’s right,” Monty said. “From what Esmé’s told us, Captain Widdershins is the birthfather of both Fernald and Fiona.
“As for Beatrice and Lemony’s baby, it’s due to be born at the end of the month.”
The six friends eventually came to the Veritable French Diner and headed inside. It was unusually empty for a Saturday afternoon, and so they were shown to a large booth almost immediately.
[I don’t know all that much about French food. So whenever I need to mention it in any fics or RPs, I just Google it. And I love Italian and Chinese foods, too. As for Mexican foods, I like chili and tacos.
I figure that Violet could be born during the RP if you’d like to stretch it out to the August.]

"This is a nice atmosphere," commented Violet, as she looked around. "It's nice to come at a time, when it's not so crowded."
"I'm really not a big fan of French food," admitted Jennifer, "but I'll have the chicken Bordeaux."
"Yeah, Jenn, that stuff's good," agreed Duncan, smiling at his girlfriend.
"I agree," replied Duncan. Suddenly, he gasped, "Jerome!" As the younger Jerome looked baffled, he whispered, "Not you. The other Jerome that we know."
"Oh, hi, children," the older Jerome greeted, as he looked up. Glancing at the younger Jerome and Monty, he added, "I don't think I'll seen you two before." Then, staring hard at Monty, he added, "Although, I can't seem to shake off the feeling that something about you looks familiar."
OOC: I suppose we could do it that way. I guess, for the role play, both of our universes would be AU. Mine does occur after the events of the books, but would probably diverge from my main universe. Wasn't your Violet born in 1985, though? We started in November of that year.
Also, what's the story behind Captain Widdershins being the birth father of Fernald and Fiona - and how's that reconciled with the events of TGG? I'm just wondering.
My Jerome wouldn't recognize yours, since we do picture him quite differently.
Tomorrow, I'll bring Sunny and Beatrice into the game. Where do you suppose they should end up?

After all that had happened, Monty couldn’t say that the reaction of this other Jerome surprised him. “I’m Montgomery Montgomery,” Monty introduced. Smiling pleasantly at the man named Jerome, Monty turned to the one sitting next to him. “And this is my friend, Jerome Squalor.” Jerome smiled awkwardly at his other self, who was now staring at him as if he had three heads. He blushed, and looked down at his hands. “Jerome is very shy,” Monty explained, which only made Jerome feel all the more uncomfortable. [Thank you for pointing out the part about Violet being born in 1985— it completely slipped my mind! I went back and modified two of my posts, so that Violet will be born at the end of November rather than early August. Captain Widdersins is the birthfather of Fernald and Fiona, whereas Fiona’s mother is stepmother to Fernald. I haven’t yet come up with the story as to what happened to his birthmother, but when I do I’ll add it to the timeline. Right now I don’t have anything beyond her and Captain Widdershins being divorced. Yes. I wrote an awkward moment between the two Jeromes. As for where Beatrice and Sunny end up, since they’re both young children I assumed they stayed with Doc while the older children went to the beach. Or I guess Beatrice and Sunny could be hanging out in the park together. It’s getting late for me now, so I’m going to get ready for bed. ]

"Your name is... Jerome Squalor?" asked the older Jerome, stunned. "I never expected to meet another person who shares my name. Then again, if there can be two Beatrice Baudelaires..."
Meanwhile...
"This is such a nice day out," commented Sunny, as she looked around. "Thank you for bringing up to the park, Doc."
"Yeah, thank you," agreed Beatrice, smiling. "Can you push me on the swing? I'd like an underdog."
"Me, too! Me, too!" piped up Sunny.
"Sure thing," replied Doc, as the kids ran to hop on the swings.
OOC: I suppose I'll throw in Doc, too - and they're at the park. What should we call the park, since I guess it would end up existing in both of our universes? Also, Violet being born in late November works out nicely. Should we have any of your characters show up at the park?

“This sure was a great idea of yours, Bertrand,” Geraldine Julienne said, as she and Bertrand Baudelaire walked amongst the playground equipment. “Esmé is going to be so surprised when she finds out we’ve come to pay her a visit.”
Bertrand smiled to himself, as he pictured the look of delight that was sure to overtake his girlfriend’s face. “Well, Monty did promise he would meet us here later on,” Bertrand said. “When I spoke to him on the phone last night, he said he’d be bringing along a friend of his.”
“What friend?”
“A boy named Jerome Squalor.”
“Oh. Does he have a girlfriend?”
“I don’t think so,” Bertrand admitted.
Geraldine shook her head. “It’s going to be awkward,” she said. “With five people and only two couples. Jerome is bound to feel like a third wheel.”

"Hello," called out Beatrice, as she looked up.
"Beatrice, please don't..." Sunny started to say. She then realized that something about the young man seemed a little... She wasn't sure of how to describe the feeling.
OOC: I just realized that beef French dip with au jus sauce might be French. I do enjoy that.
