I keep meaning to read it, but I never find the time. I've got as far as chapter 5. I'm with those who think it's a troll - the only obection to this, I think, is that it's unlikely a troll would keep it up over such a long work. But that, I guess, is what makes it so great - the kind of work she is satirising tends to be very long, so that's how she did it.

Yeah, I wonder how she could write 20+ chapters. There were times when I thought she might not be a troll after all, but yeah.

Oh, yes! I love My Immortal, though I've never read it personally myself. I've only heard dramatic readings. I've also a load of film trailers for it, though I don't think anyone's done an entire film adaptation of it.

I've always had a soft spot for really terrible fanfiction, and so I'm quite fond of My Immortal as a defining example of the trend, even if it is a parody. My one problem with it is that its popularity has resulted in a spate of fake, parodic bad fanfics, most of which are bad in themselves. My Immortal has created everything it was made to mock.

I didn't make it past the second chapter, but what I read was hilarious! The "sex scene" with Draco in the Forbidden Forest nearly made me cry because I was laughing so much.
