Well to start off on a project like this you may want to look up all the details in the books and figure at least what rooms the house contained.

The house for sure included the giant hall, a big library, at least four bedrooms, a kitchen, and I'd say at least two bathrooms... There was also the sitting room which we heard of in the book (when Baudelaire's mom was pregnant, she used to relax on the couch in the sitting room). Also, according to the film, the mansion only had 2 floors, the ground floor and the first floor. Maybe I'm wrong, but I would think that all the bedrooms would be on the top floor.

Basements and attics seem like a fair bet, if only to make it more interesting. Oh, and a grand dining room in which to hold their dinner parties, as in The Dismal Dinner. Hey, is that thing not in DDocuments? I should definitely put it there.

I have an image of the Baudelaire mansion before it burnt down. If you want help in building the exterior you may want to take a look. It's from the scene where the hook-handed man takes a swing at Klaus. He then stabs the photograph with his hook. Hope this helps.
