Sophie, it would be cool if you and Emma Squalor ever did a collaborative fic together. I'd be so interested in seeing how Jake and Emma would get along.
Also, I think it's cool that you set the series between 1985 and 1986 - since 1985 is when my favourite movie trilogy, Back to the Future, takes place. Are you familiar with Back to the Future, by any chance?
The reason why I set the events between 1981 and 1982 in my ficverse, is because I want the Quagmire triplets to be seventeen in 1985 - just like Marty McFly from Back to the Future. In my ficverse, Duncan and Quigley are portrayed by Michael J Fox - while Isadora is portrayed by Lea Thompson. Mrs. Quagmire is Lorraine Baines, while Mr. Quagmire is the descendant of Seamus McFly. Jerome Squalor is portrayed by Crispin Glover, and he replaces George McFly.

^^Off topic, but I'm in the middle of watching the trilogy at the moment. I'm currently on the last fifteen minutes of BTTFII (I was too tired to watch it all ) Makes me wonder why I stopped writing fanfiction for it...I would still like the write a Doc/Jayne fanfic. (In my ficverse, Jayne is Biff's daughter and Griff's mother.)

That does mean that she's in her forties when she has Sunny, though, and that Kit must be even older when she has Beatrice Jr. Ah, you have a point. Maybe they can be five or six years younger. He is in the same grade as Sunny, and he was born before the events. Esme sent him to live with Jerome's parents when he was 2 (around the time of the Baudelaire fire, a little before) due to children being out, which is another reason I made Sunny a bit older than most people do. @quags: your ficverse sounds awesome. And BTTF is one of my favorite movies Oh my gosh, doing a collab fic with Emma would be so awesome. We may have to arrange that sometime.

Hey, that's awesome! Have you ever considered writing fanfic for BTTF? And thanks for your compliment. I haven't seen Emma Squalor around here much, lately - but, yeah, I would so much love to see Jake and Emma interact. They'd have so much to talk about, when it comes to discussing just how their family lives are different. In both universes, Jerome and Esme adopt Carmelita - but that's pretty much where the similarities end. I'm wondering what your thoughts are on this: In the BTTF Universe, The Rev is able to get advanced surgery for his heart condition - so, as a result, he doesn't meet a tragic death in December of 2009. That means the Nightmare album would be a bit different, and there actually is a version of the song Nightmare where The Rev plays the drums. In "our" world, I mean. Marty Jr is a fan of Avenged Sevenfold (along with Foo Fighters, Led Zeppelin, and his father's music), while Marlene prefers Lady Gaga. I actually wrote a fic about Marty Jr attending an Avenged Sevenfold concert. ETA: Before you read, I should provide a quick background. This takes place in the final timeline - and, due to Marty not racing Needles, he ends up leading a better future. As such, he and Jennifer are better parents - and, due to good parenting, Marty Jr ends up not being a wimp. Marty Sr does become a moderately famous rock star. Harmony Brown is Doc Brown's granddaughter (and Jules' daughter), and Aaron and Ryan are the sons of the bassist from The Pinheads (Marty's band in Part I). Let me know, if you have more questions.

Ah, I see. So you see Esme's relationship with Olaf going back some way? (Which makes it more likely he was carrying it on at the same time as his relationship with Lulu - not to mention planning to marry Violet. Oh dear.) Though in more recent versions of (the real) Emma's universe, (the fictional) Emma is no longer Esme's daughter, but Jerome's cousin - I think this was originally the idea of Tiago (another cousin), but Emma has taken it up as well.

Are you sure it's not just another Emma? Or just another version of her universe (like I have several versions of the BTTF Universe)? It'd seem strange for her to just ditch Emma, the daughter of Esme.

Yes, I think they saw each other for a while on and off while Esme and Jerome were together, and they made it public after TEE. (their past relationship would also explain the 'my former acting teacher' bit. ) @quags: that's great about the Rev. Too bad he couldn't have done that in real life Yeah, I can see Marlene being a Gaga fan. Good that Marty Jr. has good taste. Also, great fic! I'm totally jealous of them-- I wanna see a7x live soo bad.

Hey, thank you! I don't like Lady Gaga, myself - but I always saw Marlene being a pop fan. I had toyed around with that idea, for awhile - and then, after someone else wrote about her liking Lady Gaga, I went with that. Marty Jr has good taste in music, though - and so does Harmony. Harmony really doesn't like it, when people say that girls can't like hard rock or heavy metal. I always figured that Marlene was pretty much a girly-girl, even though she was portrayed by Michael J Fox in drag. I guess they kinda overcompensated by making Marlene look as feminine as possible. As of that story, Marty Jr and Harmony were just best friends - but, eventually, they do become a couple. I fall into the camp of wanting one of Marty's children to marry one of Doc's offspring - because I really like the idea of Doc and Marty eventually being related, somewhat. In my ficverse, Doc eventually moves back to 1985 - and his family moves back with him. Jules marries quite young - and he was only twenty, when Harmony is born.

Yeah, I knew it was you. I wasn't sure if I should mention that, or not. I had actually flirted with the idea of Marlene liking Lady Gaga, even before you wrote that fic. I don't see her being as much into stuff like Justin Bieber or One Direction, though.
I remember you also had Marty Jr be a Paramore fan, which isn't really the case in my ficverse - mostly because I'm not that familiar with Paramore. In my ficverse, he likes pretty much everything hard rock - both old and new. His three favourite bands are Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters, and Avenged Sevenfold - and, of course, he also likes his father's music. He also has a soft spot for Huey Lewis and The News, but isn't as much into them as his father is.
Harmony Brown pretty much likes the same kind of music that Marty Jr likes, and she really does not like pop. She resents being told that she should like pop, just because she's a girl.

I think Marty Jr. would like Paramore. They're basically a mix of pop punk and alternative rock. Sounds like something that would be his jam.

I'll have to check out Paramore on YouTube, later on. You're probably right, though.

I'm not really a Paramore fan. And it's not because of the female vocalist; although I listen to bands with mostly guys singing, I do like Hey Monday and, of course, the Runaways. Some of Paramore's early music is okay though.

I really wish there were more females in rock music. I like Halestorm and Evanescence, which both have a female singer in it. It tends to bother me how there are so many females in pop and country, but not as much in rock.
