Shelly and BSam trudged through a jungle. The two of them had formed an alliance very early on, as they were close friends. They also complemented each other well. BSam was very strong, but lacked agility. Shelly made up for that, and was able to sneak up on foes. Earlier in the day they had used this very tactic to kill Shruti. Shruti had been protesting the Dark Games because they were racist or homophobic or something. She couldn’t even remember at that point. Anyways, she was walking around when she BSam walked in front of her with a big rock, ready to throw it. Shruti cowered, then watched as BSam threw the rock well over her head, hitting a tree behind her. “You missed” she laughed. “No I didn’t” said BSam, and they watched as the tree started to fall. Shruti cowered again, and the tree fell, and landed a few feet away from her. “You missed” she laughed again. “salsa, that was meant to actually hit you” said BSam. Then Shelly used her aforementioned sneakiness and stabbed Shruti several times, killing her.
Nearby, Willis Pandora and Sixteen were showing their extreme dominance in the game once again. They saw freebird hiding in a cave, crying. They didn’t want to enter the cave because they were geniuses and thought it might be a trap. Pandora did her best impression of freebird’s mother, saying “freebird, you haven’t killed anybody yet. Why are you embarrassing me like this? Please don’t crash the car again. We can’t afford another new one.” Her intention was to lure him angrily out of the cave, then attack, but his reaction surprised them. “Mother, I’ve missed you so much. Please don’t ever leave me again,” he wailed as he ran up and embraced Pandora, kissing her on the mouth. She grabbed his head and twisted it, cracking his spine. He fell to the ground dead. “What a motherpotato er,” quipped Pandora. Everybody laughed.
All of a sudden Sixteen used his eyes, and heard something rustling in the bushes ahead. Because Sixteen can hear with his eyes. That wasn’t a typo from earlier, that’s just a plot point. Ok, Sophie?!?! I didn’t mess up, that’s what I meant to say! Are you happy?!?! Anyways, Willis grabbed a knife and using his amazing senses, through it straight into the bushes. They heard pained moan, and saw Linda hobble out of the bush, with the knife stuck directly in her heart. She had been spying to gain insight on this unstoppable team’s weakness, but she couldn’t find one. As she fell to the ground she said “Make sure… the family history center…updates this… into my family file” with her final breath. Willis, Pandora and Sixteen celebrated another victory. They were clearly a dominant team, and nothing would be able to destroy any of them.
Numerous arrows shot from behind them as they were celebrating. Sixteen dove out of the way unscathed and Pandora only got nicked on her arm, but Willis wasn’t fast enough. An arrow went straight into his knee, knocking him to the ground. As he fell he looked behind him and saw Songbird, who drew her bow again, this time aiming an arrow straight to his heart. She let go and it hit, fatally wounding Willis. Pandora saw Songbird for a millisecond, before Songbird fled with a smirk. Pandora looked down at the dying Willis, and realized that she had also long lusted after him as well. “If only you had watched Breaking Bad,” Willis said with his final words, then died. The readers were shocked. “How could this happen,” they all thought. “We thought Willis was going to make himself the winner like he did in that other story where 667er killed each other.” But the readers were wrong. Pandora, grief struck at the death of one of her two true loves, grabbed her knife and followed the path that Songbird had left. She swore to avenge this death. Sixteen stood there awkwardly, realizing he didn’t have a team anymore. Just then, BSam and Shelly walked by. “Hey guys, can I join your team,” he asked. BSam started to shake his head, but Shelly said “of course you can!” The three of them continued walking, Shelly beaming with smiles as BSam and Sixteen glared at each other.
Next time… I don’t know yet.

Ha! Lots of interesting fourth-wall breaking here. Eight deaths so far, I think? And I think I can see where the possible romance is coming from.
Does Sixteen also see with his ears?

Kind of yeah.

I like how you acknowledge the readers as a presence in the story. And I have no idea where the romance could be, but I suppose that's part of the fun.

Also I'm a stabbing type of person apparently. “If only you had watched Breaking Bad,” Willis said with his final words, then died. The readers were shocked. I was. Also, should I watch Breaking Bad? Oblivious smile!

It just gets better. I liked the fourth wall breaking parts, the Shruti bit and Willis' death.
