lemonysnicketlibrary.com/ I don't know how long this has been open for, but as of now (6.27am GMT) I have literally just noticed it. Going to have a look now. It seems the website is still to be developed. There's no new info, just standard stuff like about the author, about the book and they also have the first two chapter up.

Proposal: Today we will get a new Snicketmail announcing this. It is Friday the 13th, after all. Ace observation, Bee. Edit: They have a Facebook page as well. Somebody with an account, please go to this page and get hold of the exclusive excerpt, please! Edit Again: Am amused by the news section which goes back way farther than the site has been up. Also, don't actually scroll through it - the site breaks if you do. Use the links at the top. Edit Once More: Oh. This is the "interactive map," isn't it? ...Oh well!

I don't have a facebook account, but I know someone does. I'll like the page, but I suspect the "exclusive except" is probably just the first or second chapter.
Yes, I too noticed the site was slow and a bit of a bother to scroll through. And it's rather disappointing to think of this as the "interactive" map.
Edit: What a sham. It was just the first two chapters, as I suspected. Still that little animation thing they had going on was quite nice.

Thanks for checking out the not-very-interesting exclusive excerpt, Bee. Okay, so basically the site opening isn't really a big deal right now. But it might be later. I suspect that, even though they were dishing the URL out all over the place in earlier events, we're not meant to know about this yet.

Curiously enough the tip off was some person posting a link on tumblr ranting about how the thing had only got three likes. Staff? Well, LSATWQ.com still redirects to this url but Lemony Snicket Library directs to the newly opened website.

That tumblr claims to be run by a seventeen-year-old boy, though, so probably not staff. Probably just someone who got lucky checking the URL; I know I've been looking at it every now and then over the past few weeks, so it really hasn't been open long. In fact, looking at Google's cache, it seems that it still redirected to the LSATWQ placeholder as recently as July 8th. With that said, apparently the Facebook page has been open for two months, but since they haven't posted any content on it, then what's there to like, and how would people find it except by accident?
I'm de-Announcementising this. I was expecting a bit more when I hit the button.

I found that the URL lemonysnicketlibrary.com/ actually redirects to the Hatchette sign-up page (but only on my PC, not my iPad); www.lemonysnicketlibrary.com/ goes to the new site. To be honest, I'm disappointed (especially if this was the promised "interactive map"). The background design is cool, but as a form of site navigation it's downright annoying. It also has what I've heard called " Mystery Meat Navigation." By the way, that same site says somewhere that "nobody should have to scroll horizontally" -- certainly not when the scrolling is this slow and glitch-ridden.

Yes, I quite agree. I certainly hope they make changes to the website when they add new content. The first url you posted works fine for me, Antenora, so I don't know if it's something specifically to do with your computer.

Well, it does say not to read it, so clearly the design is to discourage us from doing so.
In fairness, though: while chapter 1 was released to the world a while ago, chapter 2 has so far been released only to 667, so it is fairly exclusive.

Actually, Chapter Two was part of the sampler that came with the attaché case, but it's true that it's not previously been released to the public at large. I think the issue with the idea of it as a Facebook "exclusive" is that it's also on LemonySnicketLibrary.com. Which admittedly is how I'd prefer it.

Ah, right. Having now checked the page (which is nicely designed, I must say), I think 'exclusive' is a joke - 'an exclusive excerpt available only to the general public'.

Has anyone received any Snicketmail? They usually came about 3pm, and it's getting a little late now, but I wouldn't think they'd miss the opportunity of sending something on Friday the thirteenth.

Nothin' doing. They have been sent later than this, of course, although not for some time. But maybe they're simply not cannibalising HC's own Dire Day promotions, especially since the site clearly isn't really ready.

Rather depressing interactive map, and I mean that in a bad way (?). It eventually just repeats, and there is no expansion on the ever-irritating diagonal line. I suppose we better just patiently wait for more.

Ah, thanks for the second link, Antenora - it was redirecting me to the Hatchette site, too. I'll look at this later, but the general impression I'm getting is pleasing.
