I wish I could work out Violet, Sunny and Klaus' birthdays in my ficverse. It seems that they are birthdayless

We know that V and K have birthdays near each other - Dante could tell us exactly how many days apart - and near False Spring. It's up to us to decide when False Spring is - it could be in early, late or midwinter.
Sunny's birthday is in late summer, since there is a passage in TE about an incident which happened during a hot autumn when S was just a few weeks old.

Well, in my ficverse, (as seen on the previous page) Beatrice II was born on July 15th. So I guess Sunny's birthday could be a few weeks earlier?

Normally Violet's birthday would be November 28 and Klaus' October 19 for me. Oh, and I've always thought that False Spring could only be in late winter, but I like the thought that it's actually before it gets really cold for winter. That means something in the end of the year would also work for their birthdays!

Actually, in the first episode of the netflix seires they mentioned the James Brown song 'super bad'. This song was written in 1970,so the story has to happend in 1970 or later. It is known that the Quagmires were born in the dog year. So I looked online what years were dog years and found that 1958 is one of them.If the Quagmires were born in 1958, they were 12 in 1970,wich would make sense. We also know that in the bad beginning Violet was 14 and Klaus was 12,and we can assume that Sunny was around 1 years old. So that means Violet was born in 1956, Klaus in 1958 and Sunny in 1969.also,we know that the Quagmires are older then Klaus but younger than Violet, so we assume that the triplets were born at the beginning of the year and Klaus at the end of that year.

And now I see they say something about how things were better before Yoko joined, in reference to Yoko Ono. Yoko married Jhon in 1980,so I was wrong and now I should probably watch the show all over again for the 4th time and try to figure which of the dog years the Quagmires were born so they could be 12 after the year of 1980.

Hi Snicketgirl! Welcome to 667.
First, where do we find that the Quagmires were born in the Year of the Dog? If that's right it's certainly an important piece of evidence.
The references you've found only relate to the show, of course, and the dates for that may be different from the books, but it would be interesting to have a timeline for the show as well. The James Brown evidence only shows it was not earlier that 1970, of course; it could have been many later dates. But the Yoko refernce does not rule it out: Yoko married John in 1969. 1980 is the year John died.

Daniel Handler was in seasons one and two, so I find these details significant. I'm also interested where the show talks about the year of the dog. But anyway, I think it's important to consider the anachronistic character of asoue, even on the show. I don't think comparing dates of events from the ASOUE universe, even the Netflix universe, is a good strategy. On the other hand, dates or references to dates is something I think makes sense. I'm a proponent of the idea that asoue is not timeless, it's just anachronistic when compared to our universe.
I know Violet cites a specific date in the 1920s when talking about a movie in the Netflix adaptation of TRR.
But Netflix itself is mentioned in asoue. Would we have to choose Netflix's founding date in our universe as a key date for something in asoue? I think not. Netflix and streaming services and even the internet may have started in that universe before what happened in our universe.

I think Jean is right that we cannot really date things in ASOUE by this-world allusions. For a long time people tried to use technology - e.g. the world of ASOUE has fax machines - but that didn't work, since there is no period whose technology fits it perfectly. Then we tried to use literary references - I actually promoted this approach for a while - but this broke down after ATWQ, which refers to books which must have been published after it happened, if we're to have a coherent set of dates for ATWQ and ASOUE. So in the end we have to say it's in another timeline, or else, as Roxy suggests, in the future.

I've been thinking a lot lately about my ficverse timeline. ASOUE seems to share various time periods aka anachorism. In the movie it had this sort of 30, 40 and 50's vibe. While the Netflix series adaptation it was more 60, 70 and 80's feel. Now I know that most the stuff referenced for example like Yoko's marriage to John Lennon (1969) or Pink Floyd's The Wall (1982) were just meta jokes. But I feel like some references like James Brown's I Feel Good (1965) and Martin Luther King Jr (1929-1968), does hold some importance to the timeline.
Then again I could be wrong. Besides that I've decided to place the events of ASOUE (or my ficverse) taking place between 1980-1981. As for the events of ATWQ, I'm choosing to dis-include it (due to complications involving various factor debunking). PFB I'm not so sure of, but I believe to take some place in the far future. Possibly in 2021.
1941 - Lemony Snicket is born 1953 - Lemony is nearly kicked out of VFD 1965 - Lemony fakes his death, Fiona Widdershins is born 1966 - Violet Baudelaire is born 1967 - Quagmire Triplets are born 1968 - Klaus Baudelaire is born 1979 - Sunny Baudelaire is born 1990 - ASOUE starts 1981 - Beatrice II is born 1982 - Chapter Fourteen 1991 - Lemony meets Beatrice II 2021 - PFB

February 27-Klaus March 13-Violet August 17-Sunny December 31-Olaf I interpreted "false spring" to mean late February-early March and we know Sunny to be born in late summer. I like the idea of Olaf being born on December 31 because it's known as "the darkest day of the year." I'll add more when I think of more.
