Thank-you for the interview link, bloomers. There are a lot of interesting things, as well as amusing, which is what you'd expect from a Handler interview. Hearing about his writing process was particularly intriguing, although as Dante says, what you'd expect.

It seems clear to me that this interview is with DH, despite his refusal at the beginning to say who he is.
I don't quite get the bit about people who celebrate Passover - unless by 'the totality' he just means 'the number', since it is true that the passover supper involves four questions.

Are these words with the eggs often used? I've never heard them, but the question sounds like everyone should know what it is about. But I liked the answer after the explanation.

I think Anka is referring to the bit about egg-polishers and egg-layers - which I, too, have never heard of before.

I'd never heard those terms either, and neither had Handler, so I don't think they're particularly well-known. He is being ironic, though, when he says, "When it comes to eggs, I like mine softboiled on walnut wheat toast."

Neither have I heard that expression, but I understood it immediately anyway. Although the interviewer would've made himself clearer if he added the "a phrase which here means..."

I remember that part now, and yet I re-listened to the whole interview last night for a mention of eggs, and somehow missed it. Guess my concentration waned.
