The answers in the poll can't be long enough, so I have to explain it here.
Option 1: Keep it as it is. Everything that is a story can be nominated and voted for, no matter how long it is and if it belongs to a series. Option 2: Only short stories and chapters of a series can be nominated and voted for, to make it fairer. Option 3: Every story can be nominated and voted for, but everything can only be nominated once. That means if a series is nominated, it's not possible to nominate single parts of it. Option 4: There will be two categories for "Best Story", one for short stories and one for longer stories. If this option will win, the option "a second Best Story category" will be included in the general poll about the categories tomorrow*. If that option doesn't get enough votes in that poll, we can't have two categories, and we will take the one of the first three options in this poll that gets most votes.
* This is also the reason why this poll is closed tomorrow.
And can anyone tell me how I can change the name of this thread?

I'm not sure what I want to vote for....I decide on one option, and then I think, oh, no, that other one is better

Perhaps you could edit these option descriptions into the first post, Anka, so people might access them more easily? (You can change the title of the thread by modifying the thread's first post and changing the subject line.)

Thanks. I thought it wouldn't work because the first post isn't mine and was only moved here from another thread. That's also the reason why I didn't put the explanation there, I didn't want to put it in someone else's post to avoid confusion.
Oh, and now people are telling me that I should have put it in the first post, but now I can't change it in the question anymore.

You can distinguish by prefacing the material with "Moderator Edit" or the like; Terry's writing can stay intact below a series of asterisks, or hyphens.
Edit: Well, you needn't delete your second post. They can exist in two places. It occurs to me you could also simply link to your original post in the first post.

So we will go with option 3: Every story can be nominated and voted for, but everything can only be nominated once. That means if a series is nominated, it's not possible to nominate single parts of it. It is possible to nominate several parts of one series, if the series itself is not nominated.
