www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-23304181I think Ms Rowling and Mr Galbraith should meet Mr Handler and Mr Snicket. They might have much to discuss. (She did say, a while ago, that she was planning to write books for younger children. I wonder what happened to that. DH is certainly ahead of her there, having published in every possible age-range.)

My mom briefly mentioned to me about this article she read in the newspaper about J.K Rowling. This must be what that article was about.

This is like Stephen King/Richard Bachman all over again, although Rowling's new book really is amazing (far better than The Casual Vacancy).

I can well believe that (though I haven't actually read TCV yet). The Harry Potter books include a strong mystery element, so she has a natural aptitude for that, while TCV seems to have been written out of political conviction more than anything else.

Good heavens! I have just discovered that I know one of the people who did the analysis! I had assumed it was someone else of the same name, but apparently not.

I don't think TCV is a bad book - it's nicely constructed - but there's nothing outstanding about it; while The Cuckoo's Calling is really exciting.

The sequel to The Cuckoo's Calling just came out last month, has anyone read it yet? As always, it is extremely hard to snag a copy of her new books whether it be at the library or in the bookstore, so I ordered it online but it's taking a while. I should hope it's as good as the first!

yep i finished the sequel last week. i really liked it but some of the things in it were so weird, it was hard to imagine that it was written by the same person who wrote Harry Potter. i liked the mystery though and the end was super suspenseful, i couldn't stop reading.
