I enjoy both mangoes and mandarins. Given the choice between the two I would probably pick a mango, unless it was a fresh mandarin because I've only ever had the canned kind and fresh mangoes beat out a canned fruit any day.

I love mangoes, but only those which are fresh from somewhere they grow. Those you can buy in the supermarket here are put down from the plant much too early and they are still green and yellow, so that's stupid.
I don't really like mandarins, because most of them taste somehow strange, and when I start peeling one I never know if it will be a good one or a strange one. Also they are like normal here, you can buy them everywhere, at least in winter, and mangoes are something special which I maybe eat twice a year. And I always like the special thing more.

I can't fathom the idea of canned mandarin. That literally takes all the fun out of them. Mango juice is fantastic. Mangoes are nice when fresh. Mandarins are nicer, if they are perfect, which they rarely are.
