why is it that female nudity is way more common and sort of viewed as less shocking than male nudity (in movies)?

Because the people in charge are mostly heterosexual men who think that's what people what to see.

Is this because of yesterday's hangout?

Probably because i could ever could die that without just being all embarrassed at my awful body ) But yeah what linda said. I'd much rather see some interesting tv than a half-naked (or more) person.

I think that also men are more interested in looking at naked women in the media than women are interested at looking at naked men. Maybe that's just a prejudice or something, but I think most women feel somehow awkward or like they are doing something wrong (even if they are single) or they just feel like they don't need to look at naked men they don't even know, while it seems to be more common for men to look at naked women.
It seems to be a modern thing though, in ancient cultures there were sculptures for example of both naked men and women.

It's almost like there's a culture of men sexually oppressing women.

YET game of thrones still remains the only show ive seen a fully naked man or woman in.
Edit : Pft this ext comment sounds prejudiced probably but also there is more of a woman to be naked of. .... i dont really know if there is a point there or not.

I'm not actually sure if female nudity below the belt is that much more common than male nudity. If you're talking about the upper part of the body then you're right of course, and the cause of this is probably a mixture of both what has been already said and because the male bare chest is more acceptable and thus more boring to show than the female chest.

I think it's not only that, I think it's also a logical natural thing. Think 10 000 years back when humans did what their instinct told them, which was keeping humans alive. Men could just have kids with more than one woman at the same time, so their hormones probably still make them want to see more than one woman naked, while it's not that important for women. Personally I really don't want to see naked people on TV. There are much more interesting things. I actually think it would be nice if men felt that too about seeing naked women, not if women felt okay abuot seeing naked men.

Is this because of yesterday's hangout? I don't think I was there so no. This discussion was sort of caused by The Wolf of Wall Street in which there are many many fully naked women.

as many female music artists have sung and rapped, dude scores a lot and he's a player, lady scores a lot and she's a monkey.
male/female sex drives aren't just the product of previous civilizations, women often have the same desires as men but have to be careful about how they show it. i mean after all didn't some people in the rape thread say a woman is usually responsible to a certain degree?

The idea that men are more sexual/visual than women is just that, an idea. Like Carma said, a lot of it is social conditioning and historically that idea has actually been flipped. Here is an article that discusses this: www.alternet.org/when-women-wanted-sex-much-more-men
