Last year's Darkies categories were:
Most Lemony Most Valued Poster Best New Member Best Organiser Funniest Member Most Compassionate Best Pairing Most Notorious Best Story Best Writer Best Artist Best Profile Decoration Best Thread
Do we want to keep these or does anyone want to change anything?

Er... well the lack of a Mister M award is not a good sign,

I'm happy with the existing categories. I think with the revisions we've done in the last couple of years this is now a good list.
Couple of notes for new people - 'Most Lemony' is for the person most devoted to the works of Lemony Snicket. - 'Best Thread' is one that people are often doubtful about, but it is actually useful in allowing us to honour stuff other than fiction, art and Snicketological discussion.

How about best post?

I also thought about "Best Post" today, but then I thought it's probably difficult because there are so many posts, and like in "Best Thread" there would be very different opinions about what it is about, so many things would be nominated and it would be a bit of a chaos.

I don't like the Compassionate award. How about a Most Hardcore one

"Silliest Member (in a good way)"? Or maybe something like "Most Missing"

Yes, we definitely need a Most Missing award this year. I still don't know if that's something we should actually do or just a really good idea for a joke award.

Bear in mind that we have to keep it at thirteen, so any new award will involve leaving something out. Or could we give the organiser authority to create a couple of special awards each year, while keeping the basic thirteen unchanged?
There was some talk last year of a Best Darkie Presentation award.

I still think we don't really need Most Notorious. But some special award would be a good idea too. I have actually already thought about something special, but that would make more sense if it happens next year. Actually it would be a nice idea to make special awards that somehow fit to the ATWQ book released in the last year (even though we missed that for the first one now), and with WDYSHL a Most Missing award would actually make sense. I don't know, that thought just popped into my head now.

Would "Most Missing" be something like the member we most regret the absence of? If we need to find space, there's always the possibility of conflating Best Author/Story again, as I believe has been debated. "Silliest," on the other hand, probably shades a bit too close to "Funniest."

I'd be happy to see "Best Organiser" go to make space for "Most Missing".

i think the categories don't need to be changed... i don't really see the point of 'most missing'... isn't it technicality awarding something we don't want? but maybe anka should award a 'Best Darkie Presentation' award

It'd show how much we miss a certain member, who I'm sure would be flattered and maybe even inspired to make an effort to post more. I don't really see the point of a Best Organiser award, it seems too specific. Is organizing things something that's that present in our activities as members? I don't know, it's just sort of a lame award in general, imo.

Kit's tits kick ticks why don't you make a poll to see which award people would not mind losing in place of another? It doesn't have to mean we change anything, but just to see what people want.
