There are comments from people who looked at it and then a few second later at the same picture and saw the other colours. How can it even be white and gold? Does the blue change to white and the black to gold or the other way round? Edit: www.wired.com/2015/02/science-one-agrees-color-dress/Only if I turn my screen on full brightness and try really really hard, the blue at the top of the left picture turns into a kind of light blue which is maybe close-ish to white-ish blue, and the black into a maybe gold-ish dark brown.

I can see both colours, but I initially saw white and gold. It's how you look at it. #sciencemagee

The confusion seems to be caused just by the crappiness of the photo's quality. It's almost like people arguing about a picture where someone looks like they have red eyes; most people know they weren't red in reality, but that's what they look like on the picture.
The dress is supposedly blue&black in real life; if that's true then in the photo it is just overexposed to the point of it being impossible to tell. There's no trace of black, only a golden brown. The blue part is (for me) visibly a light blue, but because of the highly ambiguous lighting, I interpret it to be white in reality (outside the picture) having been given its blue-ish tint by the surroundings and camera sensor. It's interesting that the perception supposedly alternates for some people though.
Note that other, better photos of the dress are not being disputed; everybody sees it as black&blue.

I see black and white, but i can't see properly and my eyes cant tell blue correctly (blue turns into white sometimes) so i can't really count in this.

I have f.lux on my computer (it adjusts the color temperature of the screen throughout the day and night). At night, it's gold and white. During the day, it's blue and black. The OP of the dress post has been getting phone calls and emails from media outlets. Her blog is mostly a fan blog for Sarah Weichel, the manager of several YouTubers, most notably Hannah Hart. Sarah's also been getting a lot of phone calls and emails.

I've always been able to see both but the real thing is blue and black. The woman posted another picture of her in it, and someone found it on amazon and it was blue

I hate that I can't make myself see it as black and blue, especially when I found out that's actually what it is. I keep trying, and even looking at the darker versions of the picture I can't see it.
Also whoever designed such an ugly dress needs to get fired.

I can't fathom how anyone could see white. It's not even a very pale blue, it's straight-up blue. Anyway, someone should lock the thread so no one else can get their word in on this dumb subject.
