I got my first ever package from the book club today! Very exciting; I sort of assumed that I hadn't been accepted but it seems I have -- huzzah! I'm particularly excited about this, because that means I might have been accepted, too. I've changed my adress three times since I applied, though, so I still have only a very vague hope that any kind of package will ever make its way to me. I applied a little bit over a year ago now, so you never know! And you can always re-apply with your new address.

I just received Benediction by Alice Notley, along with the Love Poem For Bruce Lee I was super confused at first though because the package doesn't say who it's from other than RETAIL SHOPPING COUNTER lol, so I wasn't sure if I accidentally bought this or what as I haven't received anything from the book club since last summer. Thankfully coming here set my mind at ease lol. But no ASOUE script fragments?! They're filming right now! What a missed opportunity ;P

I just received mine, too! I have the same snippet of who-knows-what featuring Wayd, Padgett, and Martin. On the reverse is this note signed by Handler: And there was also, as mentioned in DH's note, a little chapbook of poetry by Elizabeth Clark Wessel, with cover illustrations by Lisa Brown: I'm intrigued to see what he does next with this project, and I'm looking forward to reapplying for the second edition, and hopefully receiving more out-of-the-blue packages! I also note that there is a watermark on the sheet of paper, marked Southworth Credentials. I was very excited to notice that because I felt like a detective or volunteer or something, though I see that Southworth Credentials appears to simply be a brand of stationary. Or so they would have us believe.

Got my final thing in the post as well. Where would we find the details for the next mailing list?

I imagine once it gets going it will be on his website, like last time. At the moment the old form for signing up has disappeared, so I think it's just a waiting game for now.

Oh, it strikes me that the last fragment Bear got is from Bottle Grove. It features Padgett, who swigs vodka from a cough syrup bottle, at least according to the synopsis.
(If everyone else had already known this, I apologize for wasting your time.)
