So, as you can tell by my name, I'm a huge Broadway geek. What shows do you like? What are your' favorite Musical Theatre songs?

I love Tanz der Vampire. Also, Rocky Horror, which I also saw in German. I think the only other Broadway musical I've seen is We Will Rock You, in which the music is obviously awesome because it's Queen, but the plot is basically an excuse for getting to play said awesome music. Then there's the glam rock musical version of The Three Musketeers I went to see a year back, which was both hilarious and pretty cool. Other than that, I've only seen school versions of Broadway shows - my school did a pretty good Grease last year.

(in no particular order) Hamilton, Les Mis, all of Lloyd Webber and Sondheim's work, Chess, Little Women, Aida, Next to Normal, Wicked, Violet, the majority of Rodgers and Hamerstine's callaborations, The Last Five Years, If/Then, Daddy Long Legs, Bonnie and Clyde, We Will Rock You, Jekyll and Hyde, I'll stop now before I bore you... I've been seeing musicals since I was nine (so for fifteen years), and have been to NYC three times. I'm going next month with the goal of seeing six musicals in four days, which would feel daunting if I hadn't already gone to London for a weekend to see a show--I've bought tickets for three already and I'll wing the rest with half price.

i like Les Mis because it's a good book and it feels like more of an opera than a musical.
i also like the Umbrellas of Cherbourg for the same reason

Oh, wait, I went to see Parapluis (but in Danish), too. My former French teacher absolutely adores that musical. His translation of it from French to Danish was published for teaching purposes, and he took us to see it.

My friend just got to go see Newsies, and this morning we sang the songs on the (may I add silent) bus.

Newsies is very good; I saw it last year!!! I'm actually a huge fan of all the Disney musicals--I've seen every one but Aladdin (Well, I did see a pre-Broadway preview production, but they made enough changes that it's different).
