JRB is a bro. I met him because he came to see our production of parade and he's super talented and funny. Pasek and Paul too--edges is quality.

as someone who hates musicals and has no idea what most of this thread is about, this is really confusing/fun to read. I don't know what a JRB is but I imagine it wears a bowler hat idk.

To my disappointment, I was unable to quickly locate any pictures of jrb in a hat of any kind.
But may I just say that since this thread was created I have been anticipating the day M or Charlie would post in it.

To be fair, my problem with musicals is similar to the problem I have with all the films - to much happening to quickly to really follow whats happening. This problems just increase when there is singing involved.
Les Miserables is cool though. I watched the film in about 5 minute chunks over about 3-4 weeks though.
I'm weird.

Sophie, so cool you met JRB. I just saw Bridges of Madison County tonight/last night, knowing I'd at least love the songs, and ended up enjoying it MUCH more than I expected. Beautiful.

I'd absolutely recommend the soundtrack to anyone who doesn't already own it, and a relisten if you do. Has anyone seen A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder? That's the next show at my theather, and I'm not looking forward to it at all. Maybe I'll get lucky two times in a row and it'll be like Bridges. Although considering the site I'm writing this on...

I just saw a Gentelman's Guide, and it was GREAT. It was really funny, had good music, and great acting. I saw it... 3 weeks ago?

And you're a Les Mis fan, so I automaticly have a high opinion of your taste (that's true of pretty much everyone that's posted on here, except for those of you that've mentioned shows I've never heard of, but you've given me things to research now, that I'm 99.99% sure I'll like, so basically it's true of all of you). Yay!

Gentleman's Guide is pretty darn good from what I've seen. Pretty darn self-aware too, which is generally a positive thing from my perspective. Les Mis has honestly never been my thing. *shrugging emoji* Does anyone here like Aspects of Love? Cats, Phantom and that one are my favourite ALW shows - in that order. Sunset Boulevard isn't bad either. I rewatched LND the other day for the first time in years. I was having a rotten day so I decided to watch a story about some people having even worse ones. I really think he dropped the ball there, and came to the conclusion that the people to pity were in fact the ones who had paid to see the show. But hooray for some Aussie talent doing their best with the material. Anka, what newer lesser known European musicals do you recommend? MisterM, pick an accessory for ALW.
