I think it was along the same lines as the Humphrey one in style and difficulty probably.

I think it was along the same lines as the Humphrey one in style and difficulty probably. omg 0/0, humphrey is a character one might think of while poring through literally all one's knowledge of asoue. Some random VFDoor answer is like 20 times more obscure. Plus the Humphrey one was directly connected by the quote to the answer, so a search of the clue, and use of ctrl-f in the wiki for the clue would bring up the bogart quote which could be deduced to mean humphrey. idk not trying to argue-argue with you on this, but this was a gazillion times harder, mainly bc of how obscure and non asouey the answer was.

I guess the thing is that it's hard to say when somebody goes overboard with the difficulty in an effort to win. Then again, I haven't solved a single one of these so far.

yeah i know it comes up in a google search but like what charlie said, i just didnt think it was him bc i was looking for an asoue connection, not just that he'd been mentioned in the book. making a hard clue makes sense, but its not very much fun if its practically impossible.

idk it kinda depends i guess too, bc 16's was insane but it was pretty clear how everything linked and his answer was even like a hermes theory. i think figuring out how everyone else interprets what a puzz is makes it an extra challenge when someone else wins.

how does it help you win to make your puzzle as hard as possible? dont you win by solving the most puzzles? someone else is going to solve your puzzle no matter what and all you do in the meantime is slow down the game.

how does it help you win to make your puzzle as hard as possible? dont you win by solving the most puzzles? someone else is going to solve your puzzle no matter what and all you do in the meantime is slow down the game. So there is a new rule this time around that we're going to try out. Whoever solves the puzzle first gets the choice of creating their own to be the next puzzle. If nobody solves it in 72 hours, they get the point themselves.

bear i did think that rule could spoil things if people started making it too hard. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what @wollis says. Most people have just made a puzzle about what tv shows/movies/songs/physicists they like, and i guess that's the fun in making them really.

getting to make the puzzle is fun, but getting a point for making it hard is just ruining it for everyone else
