Hi there! My name is Francesca (but you can call me Fran) and I'm a 22 y.o girl from Italy (so I apologize in advance for my shaky English!) I've been a massive fan of ASOUE since I was nine, I grew up with the Baudelaire orphans and I've recently enjoyed again the world of Lemony Snicket by reading the whole ATWQ series of books! I've been thinking about joining 667 for a while now, mainly because from my Country there's basically no fanbase to exchange theories and ideas (and I believe such books deserve a lot of discussions! ). I can't wait to watch the new Netflix series and I really hope I will meet new Miserable Mates to chat with! Thank you in advance for welcoming me! Cheers, Fran.

Hi Fran, and welcome! It's always nice to see new members here, although I'm afraid I must disappoint you on one account: Most of your potential new mates are only miserable some of the time. ;P Which did you prefer, ASOUE or ATWQ?

Hi! Thank you for the welcome! Oh! That's a tough question! I'd say that I grew up with ASOUE so I'm more involved emotionally with it, but I've found ATWQ wittier and more enjoyable for my age! So I can't really decide what's best, I love them all the same! What about you?

Hello Fran, and welcome to 667. Did you read the Snicket books in Italian or in English? Sometimes there are quite interesting differences between the versions - in English we have 'V.F.D.', but for instance I know that in Spanish the organisation was called 'V.B.F.'

Nice to meet you Fran. Not sure about 'Miserable Mates' but I'm sure you can chat to many amiable acquaintances!

I prefer ASOUE, although like with you, the fact that I grew up reading them is definitely an important factor in that equation. I still think ATWQ is pretty good though.
