www.flickeringmyth.com/2017/01/new-promo-and-images-for-netflixs-lemony-snickets-a-series-of-unfortunate-events/#.WGpCZXrfO64.facebookFive new images in here. It seems like Count Olaf will first meet Jacqueline at Mr. Poe's bank, I wonder how it will fit into the episode? I'm guessing that they might frame each episode with a scene or two showing what Count Olaf is doing, which might explain why we were told a while ago that they were building a "circus" set (Caligari Carnival?) I couldn't figure out what the white faced women were disguised as in the Reptile Room, but now it seems like they are being gardeners in some way, maybe lying about having already been working at Uncle Monty's beforehand? I know it's probably beating a dead horse to say this, but I just absolutely adore the sets and costumes for the show. I know some people aren't happy with the visuals because they aren't used to them, but I just tried rereading the entire book series with this visual style in mind and it works surprisingly well.

I always thought that the scene where Olaf visits the bank took place during the first book. But maybe with JS being there it will be during the second or introduce her sooner.
It's also interesting that Sir. Orwell and Shirley are all talking together. I don't remember that happening in the book wonder what they are discussing.
It's so close now. I know I'm going to watch this in two days and have to wait a year for new episodes :/

The the special screening is in New York for anyone trying to figure that out, like I was.

hey it's looking kinda cloudy in Sir's office. at least there's some smoke. I can imagine there will be some scene when the orphans have to go in his office and smoke pours through the door or something. My favorite photo in that link is the henchmen. In TRR I was wondering how the kids didn't realize that the doctor was the hook handed man at first. Now I'm really wondering what's gonna happen, but I like that they included everyone else too. The whole situation where they're working out who will drive with who in the cars is gonna be different now. Can't wait

I imagine this is them being like "We can get this boy new glasses!" Or something.

I know some people aren't happy with the visuals because they aren't used to them, but I just tried rereading the entire book series with this visual style in mind and it works surprisingly well. I agree so, so much. I think I said it earlier, but I never realized how much Helquist affected how I pictured everything in my head. But especially with all the over the top espionage and suspicion with VFD, the 50s / 60s vibe is perfect (hooray, McCarthyism!). I am so excited to see how that feel meshes with TCC and TSS - those are going to be very interesting in this style. I keep getting an image in my head of Olaf's 50s black car parked at the top of an icy mountaintop, with bright white/blue ice against a mountainous backdrop in that beautiful exaggerated cgi look they've been done doing. So much yes. And The End is going to be absolutely fascinating in this style. The pile of junk should look much more interesting and colorful than it would in a gothic / Helquist setting. This late-noir looks for the show is gonna be amazing for the next seasons especially. A glamarous apartment, a confusing hotel, a rundown carnival, a foreboding hospital...I can picture them already and I love it! I think Helquist's style is a good mix of that already so I'm excited to see it come to life.

So, the only theory I can come up with is that Villainous Frightful Deeds IS something, but it's not a .com URL... So it's gotta be something else.

By the way, the trailers are getting a very positive reception on reddit, and I've seen quite a few people say that they are looking forward to the show but haven't even heard of the series until now. People who comment things like "Why are they remaking this?" and "Where's Jim Carrey?" have mostly been downvoted. So at least we know most people aren't like the people in the youtube comments.

I did some lurking on reddit too, and it seems like a more favourable climate over there.
Regarding the newest set of photos, I like the contrast of colour palettes: the warm, inviting earth tones of Justice Strauss's library, and then the stark, cold blues of Olaf standing in the doorway. I have a feeling I'll be pausing the episodes just to soak in all the lovely set designs and palettes.

I wonder if this'll be like Ike's room in the movie? If they're bringing back the spyglasses, I guess anything from the movie is fair game. Or maybe not, and the entrance to the library is just a slight bit more involved?

While I am forever grateful we're getting this TV show, it's crazy how much work DID go into setting up the mystery for the film.

There's a shot of an aggressive reptile that seems new as well. I don't remember seeing it before at any rate. From the new spot, we get variousfrequentdisasters.com but as of now it's only a 404 Error message that redirects to Netflix's page for the show.

Um, where do you see an aggressive reptile? I think Eskaton believes the spot that Ryan Trimble posted to be this one.
