Um, where do you see an aggressive reptile? I think Eskaton believes the spot that Ryan Trimble posted to be this one. Yep. I didn't realize there were multiple new videos.

I only just saw the previous spot - the Various Frequent Disasters one - and that seems much more interesting than the new one with the bookcase passageway (though ooh, a bookcase passageway!), so that's the one I want to mention a few things about:
-I know we've heard it before, but Mr. Warburton's very American pronouncation of 'Baudelaire' sounds all wrong to me, and I'll probably keep saying it in various other ways between which I can't decide. -The gravestone animations are very Pushing Daisies! -'Defenestration', 'Inconvenience'... all of these are also very PD, but very Snicket as well. I particularly like how he says 'Inconvenience' in a different tone, as though that is by far what scares him the most of all these things.

Looks like the bookcase is hiding the safe in Aunt Jo's house. Love that second spot, they showed quite a bit. I do like the CGI they've been using, it's not particularly real looking, but the stylized nature of it's design makes it kind of acceptable. It's style over realism and I can get behind that.
All of Aunt Jo's house goes over after all and seemingly exactly like the book no less. Interestingly when Klaus is flung out the window he actually falls through the hole that Aunt Josephine already made. Looks like it'll be an intense couple of episodes for TWW.
The new Shirley scene is kind of interesting, definitely not in the book. Looks like he opened a furnace or something, I wonder to what end though. I'm glad for the additional content added. While rereading I realized how short these books actually are. If they had done what was in the books and only what was in the books then each book would likely have only been one episode long.

Not because I don't agree or like PD (I do agree and PD is my favorite show of all time, no exaggeration), but because it makes me wish even more that Bryan Fuller was the the co-showrunner or at least involved in some way. As it is, with Sonnenfeld working on it it feels like we're missing half of the two big creatives (I always considered Handler a necessity, which is why I don't consider him "one of" the key creatives, but rather the only true main one, just to be clear) that I'd long fantasized would be behind a television adaptation of ASoUE. Don't get me wrong, even without Fuller involved this is the single most I've ever looked forward to any show's premiere, I'm practically foaming at the mouth, but I'd be lying if I said I can't stop imagining it being even better than it's hopefully going to be if Fuller was involved. *Sighs politely* But on a more positive note, oh goodness we have ten days! Holy crap! The number of days we have to wait is nearing the single digits! WOW!

I'm glad that Fuller's not involved because although I appreciate the references to Pushing Daisies' style, I look forward to seeing something with its own unique stylistic merits. It seems like the white-faced women might be dressed as dirty-faced men in the lumber mill.

FUN FACT ABOUT THE APP GAME: it's a contest to appear in season 2! Can't download the game because I'm in US, but the ads for it say:
"Help the Baudelaire Orphans figure out the mystery of the eye and escape the awful Count Olaf! Reveal the secrets in scanning images with your phone or tablet. Look out for pics in magazines, the books, or the playing cards. Watch our for Count Olaf! He may want to get his hands on your ENORMOUS fortune. Scan a five euro bill and you could be surprised!"
Then at the end, there's a contest for appearing in the next season!

This is why I love netflix. Any other network would have made the contest exclusive to Americans.

Another new ad has popped up. And am I the only one who thinks that the thing with Olaf and the broom guy looks like it may be part of a musical number? There's just something very theatrical about the way they turn in that shot. Or maybe I'mjust seeing things where none exist because I'm actually kinda warming up to the musical number idea as long as its done in a way that benefits the series. www.facebook.com/UnfortunateEventsNetflix/videos/1900004376886178/

Okay, that's, like, our third "Miss" for the VFD thing. The Various Frequent Disasters, the Villainous Frightful Deeds, and whatever was in the window when Olaf and the man with the Broom meet.
We had to have lost the bead somehow. Where should we even be looking!?

It's the one thing that sort of bothers me. I guess we'll just have to see how it plays out.

Anyway I could like upload this video onto my iPad so I can take pictures of the spot clearly? I'm planning to make a huge gallery of every single ASOUE promo pic and video frame in chronological order. Thanks in advance.

I personally hope the musical numbers are in short supply or not too over the top honestly. It's the one thing that sort of bothers me. I guess we'll just have to see how it plays out. When NPH originally brought up that there would be a musical aspect to the show, I was initially turned off as well. But the more I've thought about it, the more comfortable I've grown with the idea. I mean, I'm not hoping they're around every corner or popping up constantly or anything like that, but one every two episodes or so I think would be reasonable as long as, like I said, they do them well and they're actually beneficial to the series and the story. Though, of course, it's not like I'm demanding musical numbers crop up all over the place. I'll be perfectly satisfied if they don't, I'm just saying I don't think it'll bother me as much if they do as I initially thought it might. Also, can we just all take a second to reflect on the fact that we basically just had season 2 confirmed for us. I mean yeah, we had those tweets and tumblr posts about the scripts being written and turned in by that one writer on the show a little while ago, but now it seems like it's been confirmed that Netflix is pretty darn committed to making a season 2 happen if they're already promising the ability to have your photo in it.
