I'd really like the musical number to be Lemony Snicket stepping into the frame and saying something like "As long as we're doing this, we may as well make it more easily digestible" and then step out, only to have the scene very abruptly now be a musical number.
At the end, you hear him off-camera: "Nope, still terrible. Still awful. And now it's jaunty."

Another new ad has popped up. And am I the only one who thinks that the thing with Olaf and the broom guy looks like it may be part of a musical number? There's just something very theatrical about the way they turn in that shot. Or maybe I'mjust seeing things where none exist because I'm actually kinda warming up to the musical number idea as long as its done in a way that benefits the series. www.facebook.com/UnfortunateEventsNetflix/videos/1900004376886178/While I don't thinks this is a musical number moment. Just because I feel the show already has a dramatic style and this doesn't seem too different for me. The music number is something that has peaked my interest. I'm not sold or unsold more interested how they will be presented. I'm loving all this mini trailers we are getting I think the Snicket one talking about the family tree has been my favorite so far. I think I'm now 100% sold on Warburton's version of snicket I think he will work very well with this shows style. I don't think you could have book snicket in his world. I think you need a more in your face narrator for on screen. My problem with Jude Law is he just voiced over what was happening in the scene. Where this snicket will be making jokes and more of a character rather then just a narrator.

In fact, personally, I'd say (though I'm not expecting anyone to agree with me) that the Snicket mini trailer has been my favorite advertisement that the show's put out to date. I think it's been the most effective at setting up what tone to expect from this show, and I came out of it feeling like it told me more about the world, characters and feel than practically every other ad combined. It's not that I haven't been appreciative of everything that's come before it, I have, but this was the first ad that I feel really sold me on the show on its own merits and expectations rather than just, and again let me stress that these are just my personal feelings, hyping me up solely because of its franchise name and my recognition and obsession with said franchise name. Personally, if I had to choose an ad to show my friends who are non-fans, but I feel like may dig the show if they gave it a chance, the Snicket mini trailer would be the one I'd pick.

I just started watching The OA on Netflix and am pleased to find out the man playing Mr.Poe, Todd Freeman, is in it. In case anyone is interested in seeing him perform you can check him out in that.

..... O.O Do it, do it, do it, do it!!!! Zinthaniel, I saw parts of the OA. Which character did he play? He plays one of the FBI agents. She meets them in the first episode. I haven't gotten to far but I believe she will meet them again. So far he only had a little screen time on the show but from what there was he is a good actor. It's nothing extravagant since his role is so secondary.

the way the interviewer speaks of the show, which he/she clearly already has seen all or parts of, makes it sound great.

This sounds fantastic! I just can't wait to see it! I'm so glad that the new plots feel at home with the series tone and lore, and how smoothly the format seems to be working! One of the primary reasons that the movie smooshed the books together was because they were repetitive overtherwise, and I am so glad that isn't the case here in the new, lengthier, adaptation. One thing I'm both excited and terrified of isn't The Marvelous Marriage. That sequence in the film is very funny, but here it sounds like it'll be totally different in tone. On one hand, I am very intrigued by this new interpretation, especially since Malina said it was so fun to shoot and it looked so crazy, but I'm also feeling premature dread for the poor girl. I suppose that's perfectly fitting.

Its rather funny that they say the Miserable Mill is the most refreshing, unpredictable arc in the show, when most people complain it's the most boring, formulaic book in he series! I'll take that to be a good thing, though.

I love that these articles seem to be written by people who know what they're talking about. A lot of the early articles gave the impression that their authors had only been quickly briefed on the plot - or worse yet, watched the movie and called it a day - before reporting on the show. These ones could be written by somebody who's been following the news and discussions on 667. The 'dark' approach has been mentioned many times before, but mostly by NPH, so I find it reaffirming to hear it from other sources. It's also nice to see that the jokes will be fewer than the trailers suggest - the books are constantly hilarious, but in a way that doesn't really translate to the screen.
