Um. I don't know, probably if it was a one-time thing to convince her parents or something like that, not least because I always feel a slight perverse pleasure in finding myself in situations that might be taken directly out of a sitcom. Not in the long run, though, because a) I'm still holding out a feeble hope of finding an actual partner someday, 2) I'm really not sure that would be doing her a favour, though of course she'd already have made that part of the decision herself before asking me to do it.
I'm wondering how I would respond to this if I actually were gay. That would make the whole situation even more sitcommy.
