what are some of your favorite mnemonic devices?
i like the one for zoological rankings from community: "kevin, please come over for gay sex." it's inspired me to come up with my own phrases for college classes. to remember what each article of the constitution is about, i've got "Ladies Eating Juicy Strawberries Are Not Real", i.e. Legislative branch, Executive, Judicial, State powers, Amending process, National supremacy, and Ratification.
i've got another one going for the individual sections in article I: "Leslie Has Six Evil Children: Charles, Lucas, Peter, Polly-Dee, and Deni'Sha." now, it's a work in progress, but it corresponds to "Legislative powers, House of reps, Senate, Elections, Chamber proceedings, Compensation, Lawmaking, Powers of congress, Powers Denied to congress, and powers Denied to States."

Lol. Tell us about ur college classes!?
My fave atm is SLUD (Salivation, Lachrymation, Urination, Defecation) for the side effects of muscarinic receptor agonism.
Also mnemonic is such a cool word, imo mnemosyne is like the coolest assortment of letters all in a row like who even thought of that.

Charlie, you should love "Johnny Mnemonic" then. At the least the title, not the movie itself; I hear it's salsa.
One of my fav mnemonics is "Every Acid Dealer Gets Busted Eventually" for standard guitar string tuning (EADGBE).

most people learn "every good boy does fine" or "every good boy deserves fudge" to remember the order of notes on the staff, but my elementary school music teacher was very ethnic and she taught us "elephant got big dirty feet"

Here it's 'Every good boy deserves favour'. (There's a play with that title by Tom Stoppard, so I think it must be fairly well established, and not just my teacher.) Though I believe there's an alternative in which he instead deserves fruit.

The ones that I remember are Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally for order of operations, My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine (Pizzas but now Pluto isn't a planet so I guess we don't get pizza ), and ELL BUM GAA TUT KKR for all the countries of the former Soviet Union starting in the northeast and traveling counterclockwise.

Hardcore. Yeah I started with nylon strings, worked my way up to steel string. I recommend .10-gauge strings for a start, so it doesn't hurt to make barre chords (otherwise one might get discouraged from practicing). (I now have .12-gauge on my steel string, which sounds fuller, but my hand still hurts after doing barre chords after a while.)
