We're told since the beginning that the money won't be used until violet comes of age. Does this mean that she alone will have titular and defacto control of the fortune. if true couldn't this cause a conflict with Klauss? What you guys think?

I don't see why it would. The Baudelaires are a tight-knit trio of siblings and I'm sure Violet would essentially treat it as de facto joint control with decisions on the fortune's use taken by all three of them.
Edit: Depending on how this thread develops, I might move it to Cheerless Characters, if it becomes more of a character discussion.

I am in agreement with Dante. The parents gave Violet a very specific job: to look after her siblings. Part of looking after them would certainly be to share the fortune with them once she turns eighteen. And I believe they trusted her to do that. As a parent, you know your children, and the Baudelaire parents knew they could trust Violet.
Although the thing which strikes me about that is if they knew they could trust Violet, why did they not trust her with the secrets of V.F.D.?
