Yes, someone climbed in during the night and changed my name. You may be able to guess who it was. And after a bit of a battle, I setteled for 'Hermes or Herms' and there hasn't been any trouble since then.

As for 'anything new', that would depend on when you were last here. We tend to have about three posts a week nowadays (though in fairness it's beginning to get a bit livelier), so probably not.
The most notable event of the last few months was Mister M and Anka's engagement. Did you know about that?
