One of my favorite Hermes memories: in the original Great Reread thread for The End, Hermes appreciated one of my notes from Chapter 1, which encouraged me to continue participating in the thread despite relative inexperience.

Oh, I say. Thank you all for this wonderful surprise! I very much appreciate all of you at 667, and hope to be with you for many years.
(Except actually my birthday isn't till tomorrow.)
(I would normally be away now, but am still here this year because of the lockdown, so it's good to have people to celebrate my birthday with.)
(I am Hermes, unlike the person above. Mind you, I would say that, wouldn't I?)
