hijacking this thread, I would like to share my favourite winter tea recipe.
normally i just have sweet strong black tea with no milk, but this version is more chai latte minus the effort.
1) boil the kettle 2) acquire small teapot or extra large mug
3) brew in ratio of one bag of bengal spice to 3 bags of black tea (depending of caffeine and strength preference), i use dilmah extra strong. 4) add sugar [preferably from a bowl] to taste, if using a sweetened milk substitute such as almond or oat it is not necessary.
5) pour water and milk accordingly, i use a 3/5 ratio for the milk-y taste.
source: months of quarantine trial and error to get ratios right i also work in a café
but just trust me bro

How long did you let it steep for? Herbal teas such as those (usually with triangular prism shaped bags?) need to brew for longer.

I don't have hot drinks in the summer, so I hope this thread survives until the autumn.

Is anyone here into Matcha or Boba/Bubble Tea? My younger sister likes to make her own, grasping onto our asian roots lol.

I want to try Twiggy's meticulous milk tea recipe so bad but caffeine makes me feel like the world is ending so instead I'll post a tisane. I've gotten strong United Kingdom vibes from some of these threads and I'm afraid I'll be tackled posting this in the tea thread but here are my rooibos with milk. Anyone else enjoy midnight tisanes?

fun fact: caffeine is a pain reliever ! i like herbal tea but they're usually pretty expensive : ( especially those marketed as "sleepy time teas"

I'm not going to tag anyone because this is a silly tea thread. But — Twiggy: Yeah herbals are fancy, unfortunately. I console myself by looking at the price ceiling of a coffee addiction. Semblance: Baffling as always. Urban: Down to the silver color? I love computers and this one is such a treat. Tonight: buckwheat tea, called many beautiful things by the countries of East Asia.

Thank you Semblance for the new review. I was beginning to panic because my remaining “tea” is spearmint. I like to imagine you’ve got a completely heterogeneous collection of loose tea bags at the bottom of your pantry and no memory of purchasing any of them. As always, I encourage mug selfies, but it’s easy for me because I’ve only got three teas. I’ll get cracking.

they are usually stand-alone stores exclusively selling tea. go to chinatown in your city and you will be able to find one. What kind of places sell bubble tea? I've never been able to see it.
