I just cancelled a date this morning with a guy from Hinge for tonight, on the grounds that basically I'm tired and not really feeling hanging out with someone I've never met in person for a few hours this eve
Currently sitting on the sofa in my living room, riding the high of cancelled plans at 7am lmao
What do you do when other people cancel plans? Do you usually cancel or get cancelled on? Do you ever secretly feel happy when someone else cancels?

I don't usually cancel plans, and definitely, if it's a long term friend or partner I wouldn't cancel, but if it's someone from a dating app I think it's kind of fair. You've never met them, and you don't owe them much.

I haven't had enough plans to cancel any for a long time, but I remember having plans and wanting to cancel them and getting very stressed about it because I didn't know how to tell people. I don't ever remember anyone cancelling on me, but that doesn't mean it never happened, I probably just didn't mind much.
It bothers me a bit that to cancel plans, or even to decline an invitation, it seems like you need to provide a valid reason, and "I'm already going out the day before and after and I'm an introvert" is not enough.

There seems to be a running theme here — I'm not asked out much, so I can't really ever cancel on anyone. The good part of this is that people rarely cancel on me. Probably they feel sorry for me.

I don't like to cancel plans unless I have to. I don't have much of a social life, so I take all the interaction I can get.
