My sister is the best at giving gifts. She got me a Princess Tiana kitchen apron and mug (with its own little spoon!) Finally, at long last, after 13 years, Princess Tiana is getting the attention she deserves. Need I remind everybody she's getting her own ride in 2024?
My mum got me a scented candle, bed socks, everyday socks, a dressing gown (which I am still bonding with), pyjamas, two jigsaw puzzles....one of which I already have, so she's going to exchange it for another. It's funny wearing socks that don't have holes. Tho I am quite heartbroken that she didn't buy me any bath bombs from my favourite shop. But I have a loyalty card, so suppose it's not that big a deal. *crying inside*
One of my coworkers got me a box of cookies. And I got her a spa kit for herself and a photo frame for her unborn baby. (From where else? My favourite shop!) I got a spa kit for two other coworkers as well. And my manager got me (and I assume every other staff member) a gift voucher for a large amount of shops.
I got my sister the settee cushions she wanted (she's just moved). I got my mum a nightdress and three glasses cases from my favourite shop. I got my dad a Wallace & Gromit mug and coasters from my favourite shop. I haven't seen him yet, so they're still nestled under the tree.
My favourite shop got me a Christmas tree ornament. As a thank you for being their only customer. My favourite shop.

my maternal side did a secret santa. instead of spending lots of money on frivalous things, we spent less money on frivalous things. i got an obnoxiously pink lockable journal which sticks out like a sore thumb in my black and white room, but makes me laugh because i like to write, even though my cousin secret santa thinks "it's gay".
i bought my sister an I♥️ME tee, which is fitting because she taped a photo of herself to the star atop of the tree. she gave my cousin's boyfriend a children's minon backback filled with beer, which scarcely fit on his arms, but was certainly funny for an acquaintance. i also received a pair of platform crocs (sick as) with the most horrendous charms from my french flatmate, and a record player from my dad - mostly because he doesn't trust me to use his...
the xmas period can be quite rough for people with strained families and incomes, i hope everyone is alright, regardless of the bounty under some pagan tree...

I received a number of really nice books, some of which I said I wanted. Among the books a tome of Dan Clowes' Eightball comics, some books of poetry (visual poetry, Henri Michaux), a sweet Taschen art book of Graphic Design, a dope art book on Markus Raetz. And a couple of DVD's, among them Visconti's The Leopard, which I'm looking forward to seeing the first time. I also got a spice rack, so I'm gonna try incorporating more than just the ~4 spices I usually use in my cooking.
I got my ma a Bob Marley Best Of & an art book she mentioned she was looking for but hasn't found (I found it, and it seems like it's the right one!); my sis a pocket brush pen and some drawing utensils; my grams a magnet board for all the magnets she has accrued as souvenir gifts from different countries; my aunt a phone pouch, and I got everyone sweets as well.

Good to have you back, Twig! -My family and I have had this tradition for a few years where we just ask each other what we want/need for Christmas and then buy each other what we want. Makes for few surprises on the day, but hey, everyone's happy

I got some pyjamas, a bowl, two mugs, a tin to put garlic in, some money, an apron, some decorations (some christmassy and some not), lots of chocolate and other little random things I gave my mum a book, my dad some coffee beans, my brother a shaker for protein shakes, my sister some dishwasher proof stickers with her name on, my cousin a voucher for going to an escape room (together with my brother and sister so we all go there together), my grandparents and aunt and uncle chocolate and biscuits. I also got MisterM some Doctor Who DVDs he wanted, like that's not the one thing he's got enough of. In my family we all made a list of things we would like, then we each picked a thing from each list and made sure it wasn't the same thing someone else has already picked. Because there are more items on the list than people and some items aren't specific (like "a mug"), we all get things we wanted but still have a bit of a surprise.
