Not if it's a list!
Then it goes under L, for list.

If it has both paragraphs and lists, would it go under L or P?

Chapter 6 Violet’s ribbon with the paperclips on it kind of looks like a choker. This is the beginning of the Baudelaires’ paths down twisted morality. The survivor of the fire is clearly referring to Quigley, but I can see where the “Beatrice survived” theory came from. This chapter ends on a cliffhanger.Join me next time where I read my what is quite possibly my favourite scene in the series…the chase.

Chapter 7 Violet’s nickname is cute but Edison was kind of a hack who stole many of the ideas he’s credited with from Nikola Tesla. In the darkest book in the series you have a sweet moment of the Bauds reminiscing about their parents. Did I mention how much I love this scene, it’s straight out of a slasher movie. No matter how many times I read or listen to this book, I’ll never find the line about Baudelaire pancakes not funny. The chute being compared to a mountain foreshadows TSS, not sure why it took me so long to figure that out.

It's really not the darkest book. That honor has got to go to either TBB or TRR.

Esme's frequent pauses to yank her stiletto heels out of the floor is great visual humor which I find even funnier now than I did back in the day.
I love the full page illustration of the file cabinets crashing around Violet. There's some fun Easter eggs spilling out: a WANTED poster of Olaf, a map of Lake Lachrymose, a Mulctuary Money Management common stock certificate, and a newspaper article titled "Deadly Snake" (presumably about the Mamba du Mal).

Chapter 8 Klaus shivering out of fear is a nice detail. The Volunteers Fighting Disease isn’t very good at fighting disease. Imagine all the sick people trapped in the burning hospital.
Chapter 9 There’s pietrisycamollaviadelrechiotemexity again. The cake story is so wholesome. Hey, Linda Rhaldeen. Bleediotie=Bleed out The last sentence of this chapter is such a wonderful piece of suspense.

Chapter 10 Fun fact:Sirin means butterfly. It’s funny to think about Klaus putting on a deep voice. Does the bald assistant use that same wig whenever he’s in disguise? Baldy comparing Violet to Sleeping Beauty is pretty terrifying if you know what happens to the princess in the original story.
Chapter 11 Watching a surgery actually sounds kind of interesting. It’s kind of funny how impatient the audience is to watch Violet’s head get cut off. I’d argue that teeth themselves are the oldest surgical tool. It’s a good thing this hospital is so obsessed with paper work, otherwise Klaus would have to behead his sister right then and there.

Chapter 12 I’d forgotten how much henchperson banter there was in this book. I can totally imagine a Daily Punctilio headline about burning paperwork.
Chapter 13 The story about the inventing contest gives me another excuse for wanting a collection of stories about the Bauds’ lives pre-fire. Now that I think about it, bouncing from high places on rubbery cords for fun is a good description of bungee jumping(which I’ve done). Before I move on to the next book, I just want to say that I really like the cover illustration.

Chapter 8 The opening description of the destroyed hospital is reminiscent of the chapter opening from TAA that describes the empty Prufrock campus.
The two doctors chatting about the sporting event may be the first (and only?) time we see television mentioned in the series.
Chapter 9 Carrie E. Abelabudite is the first appearance of the name Beatrice Baudelaire.
The Baudelaires don their first disguises.
Chapter 10 We haven't seen Olaf's troupe as a group since TBB. Since this is the one book where Olaf has no physical presence, I like how the troupe really gets to have their moment in the spotlight (which will continue when we reach TCC)
Chapter 11 The chapter illustration is a reference to two Thomas Eakins paintings, The Gross Clinic and The Agnew Clinic. Helquist even copies the leaning poses of some of the audience members.
It's funny how the bald man appears jealous of the applause the hook-handed man gets.
Dr. Tocuna and Nurse Flo is a clever way of splitting the Count Olaf anagram into two names.
Geraldine Julienne's first appearance, although she is never named.
Chapter 13 The first of Olaf's associates exits the series.
In the final illustration we see a crystal ball and a poster for Madame Lulu, hinting about what is to come...

There's a bit in TMM where Lemony says that hypnotized Klaus had wide eyes, like he'd watched too much television.
It is, I think, the only reference to sports.
