In the book The End, Ishmael introduces the Baudelaires to a ring with an embossed “R”, once belonging to numerous characters ranging from Beatrice to the Duchess of Winnipeg.
In the series, this is omitted. Does anyone have any insights as to why?
Forgive me if this has been discussed previously but it is something that I wanted to address.

The most realistic answer is time. The End(episode) cut out a lot of content from the book, and I think this is just another example of it.

You’re probably right.
One of the reasons I asked is because I thought I remembered an official reason stated by Barry Sonnenfeld in an interview but I can’t find it. It is probably just in my head.

According to the show, Jacqueline became Duchess of Winnepeg around the time of TSS. Her ring wouldn't have time yet to reach the island.

Adding to the Jacqueline theory -- unlike the Duchess from the books, her name evidently does not begin with an R, which would make it a confusing detail added for limited payoff. I also seem to remember that Sara Canning left the show due to a pay dispute(although perhaps I'm mixed up on that), and they may not have wanted to draw attention to her beyond a brief explanation as to why the character was no longer on the show.
