It's a powerful thing. What do you all do when you are feeling nostalgic/sentimental?

I can definitely relate. There is an old Sarah Brightman album that my grandma would play me as I was falling asleep at her house and hearing it now always brings me back.

i would say that my thoughts are almost daily governed by nostalgia of one sort or another, but i mainly direct it towards troubled ruminations. when i want to stimulate personal nostalgia, i will often look at things that i wrote/created a long time ago.

old photos, obvi
like, really old. so old that me parents weren't even born and i can feel a nostalgic time to where i didn't have to give a salsa about what's going on in the planes of existence. ahhh, bliss.

That's cool about experiencing nostalgia for a time you weren't alive, I don't know if I've ever felt that.
I am a very nostalgic person, almost to the point that it becomes slightly unhealthy. Usually set off by music (that I associate with a particular time) more than photos really. I also journal so reading back on that makes me feel some way- also just random memories that come back to me if I'm in a familiar place. Edinburgh as a very formative place where I spent my uni city still has me in a chokehold years later due to this reason.

Anything that has to do with stories/movies from my childhood- and the circumstances surrounding them- always makes me feel nostalgic.

i am romantically nostalgic and try to document wherever i can, making videos or the odd photograph. i suffer from memory like a sieve so having documentation really comforts me. although, it was my sister's birthday last week and my mother went through old pictures and i was horrified at the person i used to be. better to accept growth than to gloss over of turbulent times, s'pose.

I get nostalgic for times I wasn't alive in, like the 60s/70s/80s. It's sometimes triggered by music or pictures, but I get it a lot in my grandma's flat. My grandparents bought that flat in the early 70s when my dad and my aunt were small children, and it's just like I can feel so many memories.

It's good to know I'm not the only one who gets nostalgic for a time I wasn't alive, I'm strangely nostalgic for the 1800s.
