Hello, Cherry Tomato, and welcome to this dark and dismal, yet pleasantly friendly land that we call 667 Dark Avenue. You will be most welcome here, and I believe you will enjoy your stay.
I can't wait until Despicable Me comes out on DVD!!! I love that movie! It's so fluffy I'm going to DIE!!
Willis, I understand your concerns about Hermedy's administrating ability, but could you at least try to be a bit more civil about it? The insults are really unneeded.
I looove Meryl Streep as Aunt Josephine and haaate Jim Carrey as Count Olaf. I dislike the actor/actresses that play the Baudelaire children as well. They just don't fit the personalities. Basically all of the acting except Meryl Streep's is far below the par of ASoUE. I don't mind that there are scenes left out, but I hate that there are added scenes that have no backing in the book whatsoever (the train scene, to be specific, bothers me).
I feel like Jim Carrey was made to look too old for Olaf. After all, the Baudelaire parents murdered his parents after the children were born. I also don't believe he should be ugly. I think Ewan McGregor would have made a much more appropriate Olaf.
The music in the UA for The Little Snicket Lad is definitely that of Row, Row, Row Your Boat . However, I don't believe Snicket meant for it to be the official music for the song. It was obviously messed up by the person who put it together, just as the words are entirely false (except for the Coda, of course). There very well may not be a real life song that is the actual music. And Row, Row, Row Your Boat is the "well-known hymn of naval disaster." tune in tomorrow for more birdy bloggers
