I like a bit of bitter, like dark chocolate or coffee, but not too much like the tea I started making yesterday but then forgot about and still had the tea bag in half an hour later.
Bitterness can be a warning sign that something isn't safe to eat or has gone bad, so it's quite sensible to not like it too much.

I like bitter drinks. Dark chocolate, unsweetened black coffee. I also like bitter beers. I like jiló, a bitter vegetable.

I also like some bitterness like dark chocolate, coffee, cranberries, dandelion greens, and gin and tonic, although it's best not to get too attached to the taste since it can be a warning.

I like dark chocolate with up to about 80% cocoa; I once tried like 97% and that might be the most bitter gustatory experience I've had and did not like it.
I also like grapefruit juice and drink it regularly. Radishes are great except that they turn bad too quickly.
I can't think of any other bitter foods I like.

I enjoy bitter consumable items, for the same reason that I like spice. That being it gives a strong kick of flavour.

additional question: at what age did you bitter-lovers start bittering the bitters? it seems to be the last-acquired taste. i assume coffee and tea, like alcohol, are originally sought out for their side effects, and the taste is only enjoyed later.

I have always preferred dark chocolate and grapefruit was my favourite fruit as a small child. But maybe I'm just a weirdo I think I generally have a low sensitivity for taste, that's also why I like to put too much salt on stuff and hate bland food. I think it was also part of the reason why I was perceived as a picky eater as a child, because people normally offer children mild versions of everything and assume they don't like the whole food group if they don't like the mild version. For example I thought I didn't like cheese for many years, because the first cheese I was given as a child was the sort of boring cheese that hardly tastes like anything and feels a bit like rubber.

I started out with sugared grapefruit and continue to sugar some teas, but - while not my top favorite - I think I've always enjoyed peppermint tea without sugar.
