(i'm highly amused by the fact that quagmire rhymes with fire. but anyway.)
when did the quagmire fire happen? this really bothers me. some things make it seem like it was before the baudelaire fire, and other things make it seem after. quigley talks about how, when he arrived at uncle monty's house, stephano's suitcase was still there. so, that would mean that he arrived after TRR, probably when the baudelaires were with aunt josephine. and then quigley left monty's house when he heard that his siblings were kidnapped from prufrock...so that all seems ok. BUT that conflicts with TAA, when the quagmires say that they had been at prufrock for 3 semesters. 3 semesters does not seem to equal books 3-4...
help?

I think that it would have happened at about the same time as or before the Baud. fire. Three semesters is 9 months, right? Starting with TBB, it doesn't seem like 9 months.

I am confused. ok, Quigley was in the tunnel for a long, he was at Uncle Monty's house for a long time, I'm guessing, it took him along time to get the mts.
If that doesn't make any sense, just ignore it. I'm having brain over-load.

TAA, page 48: "Duncan and I had to live there [Orphans Shack] for 3 semesters because we needed a parent or guardian to sign our permission slip, and we didn't have one."
maybe its an error on handler's part.
i assumed that quigley was only in the tunnel for maybe no more than a day or maybe two (waiting/walking)...and he stayed at monty's "for weeks"...maybe TAA takes up a lot more time than we think?

TSS doesn't come out till November here so, what do you mean by Quigly in the tunnel? A tunnel under Dr. Montgomery's home? And your telling me that he was looking for the Baudilaires? Please explain!

Okay, so who did sign the Quagmire permission slip? I don't think anyone signed their slip, because they still lived in the orphan shack when the Baudelaires were there.

this was posted in some other thread, but i think nero just moved them to a dorm when the baudelaires came. vfdmaster - quigley is in the passageway under his house (after the quagmire fire) and he follows it to monty's house. and i'm not telling you any more

TAA page 81: Duncan kept his hand on Violet's and talked to her about terrible concerts he had attended back when the Quagmire parents were alive...
So those concerts happened before the Quags went to Prufrock.

The Baudelaires lived at Prufrock Prep. for a half semester, and you guys are forgetting the time they spend at Mr. Poe's between books. Here, a school year is 180 days, and a semester is a half of a year... 45 days for the Baudelaires, 270 for the Quagmires (before TAA.) When Brett talks about the Qs, he means that both of their parents are dead. K is still alive.

I bet that the Quagmires got moved right before the Baudelaire's came. There permission slip got signed by Nero so the Baudelaires could live in the shack. But then who are those replacement orphans mentioned in LSUA? The ones that teacher who fled with them by there ankles.
