I think I prefer The Gloom Looms myself. I'm not sure why, I just like it more.

I like The Crisis Concludes; it gave more of a “The End” feeling. Plus, it is alliteration.

I think that "The Crisis Concludes" is better. "The Gloom Looms" just doesn't sound Snicket-esque, and it seems desperate for a rhyme.

I like "The Crisis Concludes" better than "The Gloom Looms."
It's just more elaborately Snickety.

I actually liked crisis concludes better, just because it sounded better than 'gloom looms' I mean, who cares if gloom looms is the actual title of the next boxed set...

nono, I just think 'the crisis concludes' is overall a better sounding series of words than just 'the gloom looms' Crisis concludes is more exciting and such.

Crisis Concludes. But someone (I think it was Antenora) suggested The Tables Turn. That would be the coolest.

The Gloom Looms is the official title of the box set for books 10-12, and since the boards for books 1-3. 4-6, 7-9 are named after the box set, so will this one.
When Book the Twelfth is out, then we will deal with the issue of having a board solely for Book the Thirteenth, which, in theory, could be called "The Crisis Concludes."
Edit: Yes, it was Antenora who suggested "The Tables Turn," which would have been the best possible title, but you can't have everything that you want, as I've learnt.

I like 'The Tables Turn' as well, but wouldn't it give away the ending? That the Baudelaires break free from the unfortunate barrier, and that Count Olaf dies/is caught etc.?

I like 'The Tables Turn' as well, but wouldn't it give away the ending? That the Baudelaires break free from the unfortunate barrier, and that Count Olaf dies/is caught etc.? Handler's already said publicly that he's not going to do an "everyone dies etc." ending, and that he will do a semi-happy ending, so it's hardly a secret. Besides, there was all that table-turning stuff in TGG, and the Baudelaires beat Olaf pretty roundly in TSS.

How did they beat him? He suceeded in getting more recruits, and all they did was steal Sunny back and flee down the waterfall. They didn't even learn any important secrets either.... Oh and they discovered what the last safe place is. In TGG, they also just beat the fungus and barely escaped, after losing Fiona and have Widdershins and Phil dissapear. But they ARE more active, more defensive, since TCC when they first decided that they would stay at the Carnival to find the remaining parent.

Relatively, then they won. They didn't have to burn anything down, they gained a new friend who knew lots about V.F.D. and gave them a lot of information, they found out the name of the last safe place, and Olaf lost two members of his troupe. Compare that to their progress at the end of any other book, and you'll find that TSS was pretty much a victory for the Baudelaires.

I prefered "The Crisis Concludes" because being alliterative it sounds more Snickety than "The Gloom Looms", which also sounds a bit passive(that's the best word that comes to mind for it). Although "The Crisis Concludes" is inaccurate when referring to books 10-12, because it doesn't conclude until book 13.
The endings of TSS and TGG were the most optimistic in the series, I think. Assuming that Kit is trustworthy, TGG's ending can even be considered happy.
