Also, this person looks too sinister to be Mr. Poe, as well as plain not looking like him. . Actually, Mr. Top Hat looks very much like the picture of Fernald on page 227 of TGG. High cheekbones, aquiline nose, square jaw, straight mouth. Too bad we can't see his eyebrows in the cover picture. The only difference I can see is that Mr. Top Hat looks somewhat older, with bags under his eyes - but that could be stage makeup.

The top-hatted man does look slightly familiar You know, if you look at the shape of his face and the look of his hair as if it was from behind, he looks like the man in the triptych. No moustache you may ask? BUT WAIT! There's the moustache on the floor beside the lady with the drill! I'm thinking that she is a double agent who helps the man with the pipe, (by having a disguise for him) but ends up sabotaging the elevator. Well, what do you think?

I agree, I've been a frequent reader of this thread, but an infrequent poster. Dante, I'd be lost without you, still trying to figure out some of the clues from September Browncoat: Hi, nice to see another Browncoat I'll be reading B12 tomorrow (it should arrive at my door during the day) so I won't have much to say between midnight (my time) and finish time for the book. Thanks to everyone, whether I posted to you or not; you've made the last weeks really fun.

What's going on? The new "task" is up. It's just a letter to the editor. To My Kind Editor, Now no place is safe. With all due respect, Lemony Snicket Each line is a link. But they just go to the puzzle grid and there's no last piece and no other explanatin. Am I missing something?
