So, it finally got something added to it? That's certainly good. At least, it's an indication that more helpful stuff may be on the way.
July 12th is in 13 days, which seems to support my theory that this site will be updated at 13-day intervals. How many days is it till book 12, now? I think it's about 110.

Apparently, it's an exact quote, from something called The Monastery. Within that awful volume lies The mystery of mysteries! Happiest they of human race, To whom God has granted grace To read, to fear, to hope, to pray, To lift the latch, and force the way: And better had they ne'er been born, Who read to doubt, or read to scorn. Sentiments a noble VFDer would surely agree with. www.worldofquotes.com/topic/Scripture/1/

I notice the quote is from chapter XII of that book. Coincidence?

Finally! Something of substance. Now we just have to wait (again) for more.

So, do you think we should take the quote literally? Will Book the Twelfth contain a considerable amount of plot exposition in relation to the previous books?

I think Book 12 will reveal a lot of unexplained mysteries, but not everything. Many things will be resolved but it will still have a cliff-hanger ending. Then Book 13 will finish wrapping up all the loose ends and reveal the final secret.

That's pretty much what I think. It rather looks like the Baudelaires will be in a position to have things explained to them in B12, since they'll be surrounded by volunteers and there's going to be an actual meeting of V.F.D. In B13, by contrast, it looks like they'll mostly be stranded alone at sea (from what little we've been told by the BBRE).

Certainly, I think Book 12 will fill us in on some backstory. In the very least, it'll give us some clues that we can use to fit existing bits of backstory together and hopefully form something more coherent.

Lots and lots of clues. Fun Fact: I was panicking, because I got the same message over and over, even when I clicked the link Dante provided. When I refreshed, however, it had changed to the updated one. How strange. Perhaps my favorites list is less reliable than I thought....

The first phrase is like a haiku. Modified, yes, but still a 8/10/8 Haiku. Just wanted to point that out.

The investigation sounds interesting. 13 days until more information is definately Snickety. I agree I think that B12 will solve most of the questions about the Baudelaires.
