On the calender, in the month of April, the picture in the bottom corners of the screen are mushrooms. And mushrooms are the clue to the Grim Gr___. The picture is the orphans sailing on Lake Lachrymos, which doesn't have anything to do with mushrooms.

I posted this in another thread, but I'll post it here too...
Ok, I was just thinking of this just now. It may sound confusing, but I think it made sense to me. I got the LS calender for christmas today, and I was looking at the pictures. I came to April and something caught my eye. The main pic was the one in the middle of TWW (the one where The Baudelaires are in Hurricane Herman). In both corners of the page, I saw...mushrooms. There was a quote too which is as stated: "April showers bring damp."
What's my point you may be asking? My point is that, well, let me just say this; In the corners of the page are mushrooms, and in the picture The Baudes are trying to find the Lavender Lighthouse, which will lead them to Curdled Cave to find Aunt Josephine (a believed VFD member or close to a VFD member). Also in the picture, the Baudelaires are getting soaked and they will become damp. Now, take the pic at the end of TSS. There are mushrooms in that picture, and the Baudes and Quigley are trying to find the "last safe place" (aka Hotel D.) At the end, they end up in the sickening stream (where they are soaked/damp) which they hope will lead them to the last safe place.
ok, now what's my point? When seeing mushrooms as pictures in this series (whether or not in the books) the Baudes seem to be damp, and are in water hoping that the waters will lead them to either a VFD headquarter or a VFD member.
what do you think? coincidence or something else?

Interesting theory... But we already know they're trying to find VFD headquarters. Maybe the submarine they find is VFD... But we know they find another cave a grotto is a cave.

It still could be her, even thought her married name is Anwhistle. Josephine S is my JS theory.
So...MindTreason, you confused me a bit.
So...Aunt Josephine could have prepared mushrooms, or eaten them while in the cave.
Rikku, your mushroom theory makes the most sense of any of the ones I have heard so far. I like it.

Don't mushrooms grow best in damp places? And "damp" and "Denouement" both start with "d", and we all know how much Lemony loves alliterations.
So, perhaps Hotel Denouement is in a damp place where mushrooms grow, and the grotto would be the neighborhood around it.
