Even though there's an entire other thread dealing with who JS is I will again present my views here. I think it's Justice Strauss because in the disguise section of LSUA it mentions a judge disguise similar to Justice Strauss, so maybe she's in VFD. I don't think it's Jacques or Josephine because both have been dead for quite some time. I don't think it would be a J spats because we don't even know the first initial, but if the message was for them they would have come with Carmelita to the mountains and made some excuse to head to headquarters. No, I don't think it's Jerome Squalor because the message was for someone who knew Verbal Fridge Dialogue, a VFD member, and Jacques in his letter basically lets us know that Jerome is not part of VFD. It's Justice Strauss, I rest my case.

Eeeck. Damn. I was a bit rough on that post, wasn't I? Sorry... I've been getting to bed after Tough Crowd w/Colin Quinn and waking up at 7, thus giving me only 7 hours sleep and I could get quite mageey was only 7 hours sleep...
In civil terms, this whole forum, nay, this whole message board is about figuring out stuff. And there are at least 50 posts about JS and at least 30 about the river. Again, I'm sorry. I'm a hypocryte living in a glass house throwing boulders because I've been guilty of repeating talked-to-death topics more than once.

the next book they probably don't reach Hotel Denouement so something terrible probably happens in the grotto, submarine, or both, any ideas?

I don't understand how book 11 will follow the other trends. How will Olaf find them? He's stuck at the top of a mountain with only 3 working wheels on his car, and how are the bauds going to find a library like they've managed in the other 10? Maybe on the Submarine, but I don't think they'll see Olaf unless it's near the end.

Maybe Olaf will take a break from trying to find the Bauds, because he'll probably know the way to the Hotel Denuoement and he'll head there first. I bet he'll stop popping up, and he'll reappear in the book that has the Hotel Denouemont in it.

He could stay up on Mt. Fraught long enough to see the river the Bauds wash down and follow it... Though that probably wouldn't work because the tires on his car are deflated.  |

or, perhpas Olaf is in the VFD "training" ppl talk about, and knows that the ppl are waiting for the Bauds...and then Hector flies down wit the Quags...and they get transported to the Hotel! maybe...
