Sometimes the paragraph long similes and hypothetics get on my nerves. Like right after Jacques is taken to jail he launches into saying u could be in a number of unpleasant places, including a quandary... GET ON WITH THE STORY.

I actually find those and the warnings against reading the books quite funny.
Lemony can't have interviewed the Baudelaires because he said that he doesn't know where the Baudelaires are now, or even if they are alive.
There was one thing that bugged me. How could he know what went on when the orphans were alone?

There was one thing that bugged me. How could he know what went on when the orphans were alone? Lemony the character doesn't know that, but Lemony the author(aka DH), who created this whole world, does. It's hard to have a character in a story who's writing the story itself and telling his own, but DH pulls it off pretty well. Either that or: a)Lemony is telepathic and clairvoyant, or b)He just sort of extrapolates and infers things that he didn't see.

How could he know what went on when the orphans were alone? So what if he doesn't know where they are now? That doesn't mean he's never ever interviewed them. And how else would he know what happened all those times when they were alone?
