please, please, PLEASE, do not yell at me i just wanted to make a point, esmes snowsuit was stolen and had a "B" on it, and rite when sunny looked at her snowsuit, count olaf stepped in frone of it, and said somethin like, wut r u lookin at?"or somethin, but i think he stepped in front of esme because sunny would recognize it cuz it was her mom's snowsuit! THERE! DO NOT GET MAD AT ME PLEASE! I WONT DO IT AGAIN!

This has been discussed many times, but I will just clear it up for you:
The villainous girlfriend turned all the way round, to show off her outfit from every angle. Sunny looked up from her cooking and noticed that the letter B was sewn to the back of it, along with the eye insignia.
"I'm glad you like it Hugo," Esme said," It's stolen"
Count Olaf glanced at Sunny and quickly stepped in front of his girlfriend.
"What are you staring at toothy?" he asked," Are you done making breakfast?"
So he's trying to hide it from Sunny. It must be someone from V.F.D (due to the insignia) and someone initialed B (due to the B)
It could be a red herring (note the snowsuit is red?) and it could be another member of V.F.D....but still someone Sunny might know.
Or maybe Olaf thinks it says Beatrice too.

My guess is that Esme stole the snowsuit from some VFD former sanctuary. I agree that it belonged to Beatrice, a VFDer. Or possibly that lion trainer named Bertrand. Or for that manner, any VFDer known colloquially as B.

This helps my point that Beatrice, even though being the Bauds mom, was on the bad side of the schism. If that was her snow suit, why would a good V.F.D. member have one that looks like a giant fire if they want to stop fires??

The snowsuit didn't look like a fire; that was a dress that Esme wore later. Where did she get that dress, anyway? It's not like there are custom tailoring companies atop Mt. Fraught. I'm guessing that she carries several ridiculous outfits with her, including the I <3 Freaks dress and the usual pinstripe suit. I'm pretty sure that the Baudelaires were on the good side of VFD. That's at least part of the reason that Olaf burned them, the other part being outright greed. |
