The man with a beard but no hair, the woman with hair but no beard, the freaks and a large number of kidnapped children are currently at Hotel Denouement, preparing to put their sinister machinations into motion. Exactly. So why is Quigley allegedly preparing to send the Baudelaires to a place teeming with villains? They'd certainly be caught under normal circumstances. Why not send them on another task that will lead them, indirectly to the Hotel D? New page syndrome for you, FFWF. I had a bad case of it earlier.

Tumbling Towers was a rumored title for book 11, now obviously disproven, so I'm a bit doubtful of it being the title of book 12. Also, Snicket might not want to use it because of the tragic connotations--the terrorist attacks of 9/11.
Although, come to think of it he could work in some sort of political satire/allegory...he's done political satire before to a small degree...(Busheney!)

when did the clue things (answer the questions about the SS and get a clue about TGG)come out for the last two books, month I don't believe the answer has actually come out on the official site. It has, however, been solved. For TSS-TGG, anyway. I don't know about the previous one. The TGG clue actually came out around the time of TSS, because I remember doing the quiz thing first, before I read TSS.

I know but what month did the thing come out where u needed the SS to get the clue about the GG I'm not sure when it was first available, but I think you could get it if you bought TCC at certain bookstores on the release date. I ordered TCC from Barnes and Noble--and got it four days late, and eventually got the clue off the internet.

To tell the truth, I don't remember exactly when it was online, although I can vaguely recall not being able to find it for a very long time, then printing off this really huge image of it(nine pages). The huge paper clue is now faded and(for reasons I cannot recall) covered in water spots, and I'm using it as a sort of window-shade in my closet.

Sorry to go off topic a lil, but I have a theory...
It could be interesting if all of Olaf's assosciates and henchman started dying and the Snow Scouts all escaped, and the Olaf was all alone and so angry that he became even more vicious than before, and at the end he just... disappears. And they know he's out there somehwere, but for now they'll have to go on with their daily lives until he comes back, which they're sure he will someday... And someone else goes missing too, like Quigley or someone close to them. But none of the Bauds. They all just hope that one day, that person will come back, and that if Olaf comes back, they'll be ready...

There have always been theories about Olaf losing his henchmen and going up against the bauds and the snickets alone but this hope of mine was doused by the arrival of the carnival freaks, M and N, snowscouts, and other henchmen so if all of them were to be liberated(in the snow scouts and carnival freaks' case) and/or killed(M, N, and Esme) it would be a miracle and it would take too long for handler to pull off and still have a plot where Olaf fights the bauds alone.

Actually, a fire could easily knock off many people at once, if they were tarpped by the flames. And the others could use that time to escape and liberate themselves. It could all happen quite quickly. But you'reright, there sin't much itme for this to happen. Yet I still think it's possible... whatever, that's my theory and I'm sticking with it (as my mom said while we watched Gilmore Girls I'm rolling my eyes at mom, not Gilmore Girls, which I love)

Maybe the denouement fire could cause enough disarray to where the kidnapees could escape and the minions would be burnt to a crisp... Then Olaf would have no one to assist his schemes.
