Is there any chance that Beatrice could be Fiona's mother? I wish I had a book like Klaus to keep track of everything I read, my memory isn't so great. But what made me think of it was a comment Esme made in TGG (pages 294-295) referring to Fiona's mother's ruby ring: "She would have wanted me to have it," Esme said quickly. "We were close friends at school."

But Beatrice didn't meet Esme at school, she met her at tea one afternoon.

Beatrice is Mrs. Baudelaire not Mrs. Widdershins. The question is, who is mrs. Widdershins? Duchess r? No no, that duchess had kids in the snowscouts. Sally sebald wasn't married... Perhaps some other random woman in VFD? yes that sounds good. one of the ms or js. Or more probably someone we've never heard of.
