I really would like to finish the book and get into a serious argument about character development and such. In short, drama and defining moments would be great.

I'm not sure of a specific event I want to happen, but I want to find out more about the VFD schism and the backstory of VFD in general, and see the Quagmire triplets again. YES! I so want to see Hector, Duncan, Isadora, and the glorious Deus Ex Machina again, I've been waiting to see it again since Violet promised to catch up with them at the end of tvv.

Well that'll happen in book 13 if at all, so I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I'm hoping they do, because I just HATE it when authors end a series with loose ends that need to be tied via our own opinions. Maybe the last few pages will be singed? So we can't read 'em? That'd be a bummer......

That would be horrible. I think I want someone to die. That would really make it live up to the title. i would hate it to have a happy ending!

I would like Fernald and Fiona to redeem themselves in some way in Book the Twelfth. The death of someone seems likely, since Hotel Denoument will probably be burned to the ground.

Yes.
Also, Handler promised that he would not end "A Series of Unfortunate Events" happily, so as to make it live up to the title. A death would be great, a word which here does not mean "awesome or cool." I'm postive that there will be a death or two before the end, and possibly @ the end.

He said that the Bad Beginning doesn't have a happy beginning, middle or end. He never said that the end of the series isn't happy. I'm sure it will be a bad ending but in a good way or a happy ending in a bad way.

Handler's said that the very end of the series won't be particularly happy or particularly sad. He's also said that he's not a fan of the word "bittersweet." That was in an interview, but I'm hopeless at digging these things up. It's somewhere in Gloom Looms, though.
Edit: And this isn't the thread to be discussing the end of the series. This is the place to discuss what we want to happen in Book the Twelfth.

Fernald and Fiona redeeming themselves would be great as it's a bit draining to continue hating them. I'd also like another villain death, we had one in thh and tcc, but we've been deprived of them in tss and tgg. *hungry for villains to meet their end* I'd also like to know more about the scouts that were kidnapped as well as the identities of the sinister duo(PLEASE be Olaf's siblings...)

It was said that Widdershin should "never should have trusted his stepson", perhaps indicating that Ferald will stay bad. But I think Fiona has a chance, as she helped the Baudelaire's in book 11.

Wrong, Lemony said Widdershins "was wrong to trust his stepson for so many years" he didn't say never, and he didn't say that he should stop trusting him for good, he merely said that once it was clear Fernald had chose a villainous path widdershins should have stopped trusting him.

Jacques, your hunger for blood makes you a villain yourself, lusting after violence and soppy eating!
I am of Handler's mind about "bittersweet". It's a horrible cliche spawned in relation to ASOUE by Michael Cuellar, together with "everywhere and nowhere". Yuck.
I'd like us to see more writers getting involved, including lots of Shakespeare quotation. And I would love to meet the Duchess of Winnipeg.
